LOS ANGELES - New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who says he's not a candidate for president, chose electoral vote-rich California Saturday from which to deliver a scorching assessment of Washington for failing to keep up with the need for new airports, roads, water systems and bridges across America.

While China and other nations are investing heavily in ports and high-speed trains "Washington doesn't have a plan" to address crumbling U.S. infrastructure, Bloomberg said.

In remarks clearly aimed at a national audience, the mayor said politics trumps common sense in Congress, where pork-barrel spending takes priority. Inevitably, the economy will be strangled if goods and people can't move easily, he warned.

"In politics, winning elections and protecting a party majority is more important than solving problems. And so short-term pork invariably wins over long-term investments," the mayor said.

Why do we care what Bloomie says? He should worry about all the bridges & tunnels running into NYC.

Have you driven the BQE, or the LIE in the last couple of years?

I think it's funny, the way the The Man is advancing Bloomberg as if he's any sort of possible candidate.

He isn't.

There are 3 reasons why.

1) From New York City.

2) A Jew From New York City.

3) A Bisexual Jew From New York City.

Obama won't. Hilary might.

Remember, it's ALL PLANNED ALREADY. Obama's there because he's the only one Hilary can *BELIEVABLY* "win" against.

Well FB- I wish it werent so bleak. You are good at denoting the problem, the challenge is to fix the trainwreck. It seems that we are on the wrong course- that it is like a car veering over a cliff- the car is over in freefall right now.  I heard somewhere 36 people hold up all of hamanity- that less 1 of these folks all hell breaks lose. I am in no hurry for caticlismic events. In teh beginng I thought you were- well- nuts. THese days I think you tho brash at times- have a better idea then most per the smoke and mirrors going on. You know when I worked witht he retarded- at times- they had more going on then the us in the "real" world....   makes you wonder.  I enjoy your posts. The elite 1% of the world aint gonna let anyone touch their gold.    he who has the gold -makes the rules.....   /burp/
