Back when I was a kid, I read a book, "All Horses Go to Heaven". It was when I was going through my horse craze, and I must have read the book a hundred times. I have enjoyed plenty of other books since, but that was the "best" one of my childhood.

TPBM had a consuming interest as a child, that did not carry over to adulthood.

I went through various phases, wanted to be a nurse for a while, then a chemist, then an accountant, then a psychologist.  Ended up in IT.

TPBM is planning to go into another field later in life.
