ORIGINAL: slaveboyforyou Laurell those court rules come from ettiquite, there is no security reason for it. The only reason they make women do it now is to avoid cries of discrimination. The judges that do this are just cowards. For a man, removing your hat shows respect. The same rule of ettiquite does not apply to women, and it never used to be done in courts. Like I said, the judges today are cowards. It's up to them, and they don't have to do this silly shit. It's done in every court I've been in across the United States regardless of gender slaveboy. There are plenty of things in ettiquette that are not applied in Court and vice versa. Thus my statement that ettiquette does not control. Your generalization that "judges today are cowards" is also not my experience at all and I know quite a few the majority are honest human beings that truly care about what they do. They are overshadowed by the asses who have let power go to their heads. Luckily however, politics is such that appeal and their governing body doesn't usually let them go too far if you know how to apply the rules. I honestly believe that the old standards should be applied. I believe we should address the Court respectfully, we should stand, we should not wear hats, we should submit pleadings on bond paper, we should sign our names in ink, we should not argue unneccesarily in Court, we should be respectful of others at all times in Court. I began appearing in Court back when women weren't supposed to wear pants. Some things have changed for the better, however, some things should remain the same and whether one paticular judge is an ass doesn't denegrate the overall respect people should demonstrate in a court of law in my opinion. However, obviously as with all things in life there are exceptions and someone that cannot apply the facts to the rules and determine when an exception is warranted for humanity's sake is a pisspoor judge in my opinion.
