quote:

In this farming community where nightfall usually brings clear, starry skies, residents are abuzz over reported sightings of what many believe is a UFO.

Several dozen people — including a pilot, county constable and business owners — insist they have seen a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast. Some reported seeing fighter jets chasing it.

"People wonder what in the world it is because this is the Bible Belt, and everyone is afraid it's the end of times," said Steve Allen, a freight company owner and pilot who said the object he saw last week was a mile long and half a mile wide. "It was positively, absolutely nothing from these parts."

I'm sure the jets were chasing after it.  After all, our missile technology completely dominates intergalatic spacecraft.  The UFO's obviously outclassed.

Also, the UFO was obviously visible.  It's not like a species with technology that advanced could make it stealth or anything like our advanced fighter technology.

cyberdude611 -> RE: UFO sightings in Texas (1/14/2008 8:41:57 PM)

It was a weather balloon.

slaveboyforyou -> RE: UFO sightings in Texas (1/14/2008 8:58:09 PM)

I don't disbelieve that people see things in the sky all the time that they can't identify.  I didn't read one statement from any of these people claiming to have seen an alien spacecraft.  The people in the story and most other stories simply described what they saw and reported it.  I don't know why people have to give others shit for reporting something unusual.  I don't know what they saw, and I don't know if they are kooks or not.  I have never met these people.  I just think others might want to give them the benefit of the doubt before jumping their ass about it.  One day, you maybe the one who sees some weird shit that you can't explain.

Once upon a time, I got a suggestible friend who knew a little bit about aircraft into a near panic over the anti-collision lights of a pair of F-117's playing war with the National Guard.  I happened to know what I was looking at, or I would have seen an unidentified flying object too (he still tells the story).

Our taxdollars buy some cool toys that don't work if everybody knows we have them.  Aviation Week and Space Technology would be a good resource for you, and Popular Mechanics sometimes carries reports.

the object he saw last week was a mile long and half a mile wide.

Fighter jet escort and USA location suggests that it may be an Earth deep space ship on its try-out.
Size - well, I suppose that Earth may build something that huge, though it is a bit larger than the USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77). Doable.

seeksfemslave -> RE: UFO sightings in Texas (1/15/2008 3:15:44 AM)

It was a flock of sub orbital dildos.

Every law abiding Texan got rid of his/her excess dildos.. See CM thread greater than 6 dildos is illegal. There was an explosion at the dildo disposal site; dildos entered low earth partial orbit  hence UFO sightings.See, there's always a rational explanation.

Just hope they didn't travel South West and land in Mexico who might believe they had been attacked and declare War on the US.

lol seeks, yes, a swarm of dildo-wielding Mexicans pouring across the border is a frightful thought.
