I witheld information and gave a few false leads so therefore he outs me not also as someone unfit to be with minors but as a fake and a liar.
What is a girl to do?
He is who he said he was in real life as far as i know as i checked all the copious details he gave ne about himself.
As far as i know unless it is a very very clever case of identity fraud he is that person and that is a man with land and property and more property to develop and obviously is used to throwing his weight around.
Actually this is not a reacurrance of my first thread and is actually meant also to raise the debate amongst others and an attempt to ellicit thoughts about how we might protect ourselves.
i belive that this happens to more people in the lifestyle than are willing to confess because it makes us feel like the perpetrators especially when data protection in the UK protects his identity and not mine.
Actually meeting someone does not necessarily safeguard against these issues either.
With respect and thanks to all those who have advised and supported me here and by PM.

As I've said there are laws for your protection that exist:

Have you thought about going to a newspaper?  You could be quoted as an "anonymous source" but it sounds like you've got enough info on this guy to get him in more trouble than yourself.  If he's a hotelier, then yes, he's got money, but he also needs customers.  Odds are that if an article came out, he'd be the one who would suffer.  Let the newspaper do the work to confirm that yes, he's the guy that's blackmailing you.  If the hotelier is innocent, then he may be grateful to learn that someone is using his identity in this fashion, and he could become an ally.  If he's not innocent, then it seems that you can hoist him with his own petard.

Would just end up in deformation of character lawsuits. Newspapers don't touch hearsay with a barge pole and what is the public interest in an individual case?

i dunno, but it seems to me, starting another thread about him will fuel his fire.  i can see him sitting rubbing his hands together, murmuring hahaha im still getting to her!

if you are fearful, go to the police or use some of the many links that have been provided to you......if you are basking in the glow of  the attention you are getting, keep discussing it here where nothing can be done to help you.

i am not trying to sound mean or uncaring, but i suspect you are giving him the attention he craves by continuing to bring this up here on the threads.  go talk to someone who can help you....i think the CM community has done all they can for you.

If she's got emails to her employer, I'd say that's well beyond hearsay.  Since there's a crime involved here- i.e. blackmail for sex, rather than money, I suspect that some newspapers would be interested in such a story, especially if the OP really has damning evidence.

Maybe Sam

Depends how famous he is I suppose, I still think the law is the best approach because Newspapers have their own motivations and you could get swept up in that and spat out.

I think Max Clifford has enough on his plate.
And John Simpson has broadcast from Zimbabwe.....I do realise there are far more important issues.

To the OP: Things done with malicious intent are often actionable via the law, and not just criminally. Speak to an attorney, and you may just be the new owner of a hotel.

Ohh hell no, you don't want that hotel - dreadful colour scheme in the bar... yikes...... plus the place is surrounded by strange statues, one of them has no head which is why it's called 'Torso'... but dont tell the owner because he hasn't quite worked that one out yet...bless!

From what i have been reading i believe that the situation has followed the snowball effect. The more the OP created threads compaining about the guy, the more he derived pleasure from it and the bigger the problem has become. I believe that the OP should go to the proper legal authorities to deal with the situation. It doesnt matter if he has money or land, he is still subject to law. Go to the police, get a restraining order or whatever you need and get over it. Quit giving him the one thing he wants from you, attention. If you dont want to go to the cops and deal with the situation, then quit complaining about it. The people who have posted in reply to you have given great support and recomendations and deserve a pat on the back. The old saying goes, "you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink." If you take the reccomendations everyone has provided you, fine, if not then oh well.

The only person who can handle this situation is yourself. It wont fix itself. I hope you get the help you need from the authorities and i wish the best for you.

Good Luck!
