SSC or RACK?

Six of one, half dozen of the other, as the saying goes.  The bottom line to both, have a good idea of what you're getting in to, and don't get into something that you feel is probably over your head.  To be honest, I've never put too much thought into either one - they're just different ways of saying "exercise some common sense."

I do not spend my time thinking about whether we are RACK or SSC. I would like to think we are sane, we try to be safe, the only thing I know is that we are consensual. As far as RACK. We do assess risks and try to be aware of them, we are consenting and kinky.

Here is the thing, there is no "safe" way to do dangerous things, one just tries to minimize the dangers and to be aware of them. But there is also no such thing as complete awareness. I like "risk assessing" more than "risk aware". When one is assessing, they do not assume they are aware of the risks, and one should always be trying to minimize risks.

I vote for RACK as the best way to describe wiitwd among the commonly recognized acronyms, because as pointed out, safe is a totally relative term.  If I were to add a parameter it would be Responsible, as in responsibly minimizing the risk for whatever risky behavior you're engaging in, and responsibly handling mishaps to minimize consequences.
