Ten years ago a spanking, even bare handed, left marks - not bad and they went away in 24 hours or less, but some marks anyway. Now a long hard spanking barehanded makes my bottom red and warm, for a few minutes. A leather slapper, tawse and selection of paddles do the same. We have a paddle made of graphite with holes in it that we think is a paddle ball paddle. It hurts amazingly and is NOT a "warm up" toy! It does leave little round marks from the holes, but only for a few hours or a day at most. I'd think about the reciepient's natural bruising and that might be a sign as to whether or not they will mark easily. Are they fair skinned; which will mean easier marking? If you are worried about marks and want to avoid them, go slow and see what happens.
