Thank you kc... to answer your question, yes I made sure I had the correct password. I tried several ways to access my account. Each time I entered my Login name and password, it returned to the CM Home page. When I entered an incorrect password, the window noted an invalid password. When I entered the correct password, the window returned to the CM Home page, again, without letting me login. So annoying!! [sm=confused.gif]
So, I returned here to the boards earlier today and read everyone's suggestions. Thank you all!! I followed mnottertail's directions, a couple of times. (I dump cookies and cache daily, but I followed those instructions specifically.) Unfortunately, they did not work for me.
Nohalo, thank you for your observations. Popeye, it seemed several folks have this problem. Mine began without warning and I had not made any chnages to my pc settings prior to the login problem.
However, the CM Gremlins lost this battle... thanks to each of you.. the inspiration was there. Here is what worked for me....
Just deleting cookies and resetting firewall parameters were not enough, apparently. I finally had to delete my firewall and reinstall it. I reset my preferences and privacy levels again. This did the trick. For some reason, actually uninstalling and reinstalling the firewall made the difference. I have no idea why, because everything is set exactly the same as before, but nonetheless, it worked.
Thank you all for your wisdom and patience. [sm=applause.gif] I hope my solution will help someone else, albeit a pain to have to reinstall and reset everything. The magic must be in the persistence and patience. Thanks again, A/all!!
