So a Pro Domme I know here has very recently be outed by hackers.  They found her information through the WHOIS registry data of her website, including her name, address, and phone number (no, I'm not going to give it out, so don't ask me.)

They then hacked the website of the school she worked at, and posted information about her interests in BDSM, links to her site, links to her livejournal, and photos of her.  They even posted googlemap images of her house, and phone numbers for local food delivery places so people could prank order food for her.  They claim the reason they did so was because

"Also, the real reason (hacker's name) is justified is that the bitch came on (forum name) and provoked us and said she could beat us, that we would never win over her.

That, above all else, is the reason to bury this bitch as far into the ground as we can.
"

I don't know what the repercussions to her have been, but her site's been taken down, her livejournal closed, and I can only imagine she's going to have trouble keeping her job.

Folks, please be careful with the information you post on the internet.

Stephan

I made a mistake like that once… I gave a phone number and the next thing I know they were trying to blackmail me.

My only salvation was I managed to find out who and where and took care of it before they destroyed my life.

But I am a lot more careful now… what a shame.

I have trouble working up sympathy for a COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE which didn't do their homework on how to confidentially protect their employees...

That hardly sounds like hackers, just people who know how to look up information and post it in a forum.

I'd say it's for the woman, not the company.

But yeah... some people really fucking suck. The evil bitch in me wishes the same thing would happen to them but I know that wouldn't solve anything.

I can't post the details, simply because it includes the woman's real name, address, etc.  But yes, it was a hacker group that was responsible.  The information wasn't just posted in a forum; it was posted into a hacked page on the school website that she teaches at (and probably cost her her job.)

No matter how distasteful I find the practice of financial domination, her privacy was invaded and exploited for shits and giggles on the part of the hacker.  It shows how quickly our comfort online can come crashing down, with dozens of phone calls from random people (the woman had to redirect her line to the police, because she was being harassed so much), or stalkers.

Bricklayers have the best builds I ever seen!

I used to have a personalize license plate. After 5 years- I switched. It was too easy to remember.  If someone runs my plate- and thinks they will gain entry into my home- it might not be a good outcome for that person. Then again, I suppose the world is very different for females.

I echo Stephan, and appreciate Termyn8or's post.

Sadly, while damage control was attempted, they archived all the personal info, pictures, screenshots, etc. from the "war" that come up with a standard Google search. (What happened was discussed in more specific detail on threads that have been pulled, and no, other than this post, I'm not going to discuss it either.) She's a young woman, and this will follow her for a long time.

I submit the two words for your perusal :

DAMAGE

CONTROL

And hence I shall type out something which is a maxim of a very old ,,,,,,something.

Knowledge is power, and wholedge shared is power lost.

I believe that, and as such you may say that I am stupid to try to help people and all that, but that is not the case. If I kept all the knowledge to myself I would explode, and if I kept all the power to myself I would be King. Remember all a King has is the support of the People, and his horses and Men. He only has so many horses and Men, if the people really got against him there would be a big problem.

You see I of course think I am right. I think I usually am, but others nmay disagree, but the chance to put out my viewpoint is priceless. Disagree, but don't show up here looking for trouble. (I mean my house)

But then now might be a good time to meander back to the OT. People are finding and raping young teen girls via the internet. And pursuant to the OT, YES it was the victim who provided the information to the predator to find her. Shit like this might fuck up the internet for everybody one day.

But then I am now sure you do not want me to go on. The best way to put it right now is that I don't see why wee need school zones (lower speed limits). Some countries do not have them, I guess the ones with the smarter children. This is life and this is how fast cars go, get used to it.

But no, instead of teaching them to cross the street we have crossing guards, instead of expecting one iota of sense out of them we cause a fucking traffic jam by making it a temporary 20 MPH zone. And then when they start to drive, instead of making sure that they drive responsibly we get them insurance.

Do you wonder what the predators see ?

I have a comment to make now, and it would derail this thread.

Be well.

T

Sounds a little bit like JessicaTroll...  I'd like to hear more of the story, especially after reading that a subpeona has been issued in the MySpace suicide case.  Provoked how?  Teasing them on touchy issues, or was she doing some harm on her own to begin with?  Just asking.

Shame they couldn't work it out over a game of chess or something.

It is a shame, but there is no such thing as real privacy once you put your personal details out there on the internet.

Sheli,

Depends on your name.  My slave can't use her real name online here, or it's likely someone would get her full name from google.  For my part, I'm not concerned with being 'outed' so I use my real name.

If she had pictures posted on a BDSM website chances are she would of eventually been outed anyway.

What's interesting is that, should your friend not have had any of these things up, and just clothed pictures on MySpace or so, they could've still screwed her over.  For computers users of that level, photo shopping clothed pictures to BDSM gear and putting up a website, apparently in her name, on a free server with such things (probably stealing the code and text from another dommantrix site for authencity and to save time) would've been simple enough.

Or, really, she could've been innocent and a determined hacker could've still done the same without a great deal of effort more.  (Maybe an hour or two, mostly for touching up the photoshop convincingly and signing up for the free account).

While irrelevant to your point, I'm afraid curiousity does compel one towards the subject you've so considerately tried to sidestep; I wonder what is was she did to anger these fellows so?  Granted, many hackers have short fuses and this was basically a form of a cyber rape, but she must've done something rather silly beyond just posting personal information online to draw such concerted effort from them.

Sometimes a simple rejection, regardless of how benign it seems, will suffice to draw such attention. Regardless of what transpired, it is no justification for a person to make deliberate attempts at ruining another's life. The internet is a wonderful playground for unstable individuals that haven't learned the consequences of their actions and know that regardless of what damage they bring to someone, they aren't 'personally' involved - b/c it's done via the internet and not face-to-face, so no real consequences to themselves.

I`m suprised the Lady concerned was working as a proDomme and at a school at the same time. Even without the hackers there was a high chance a client, or just someone local looking at her web site, would have recognised her from the school.

I guess the cops dont worry to much about hackers while its only the general public being affected. They would soon act if it was a hack against the banks or government computers.

I agree, she could have tried to pass off the whole thing to her employer as some sort of sick joke; but when it comes to certain professions, we all know that the appearance of impropriety is far more important than actual impropriety.  Given the amount of information about her in her site, I find it unlikely that her employers would be likely to buy it.

My understanding was that one of the hackers came across a clip of her on Youtube.  A clip of one of her postings here on the forums was offered as 'proof' of her vanity, meaning it had to have been someone who was familiar with collarme in the first place.

The hacker in question states in his site:

"While some may question the morality of many raids, THIS one had a solid foundation. Read, from XXXXX's own site"  (her rates for chat, phone, and cam, follow) "No further explanation is deemed necessary, except for this display of narcissism" (link to one of her CM posts where she says she loves her body.)

Point is, that the assumption that she must have 'done something' to deserve street level photos of her apartment, harassing phone calls, being reported to the IRS, and being outed to her employer simply doesn't hold water for me.  This guy was clearly one malicious SOB, posting the make and model of her car, hacking into her site and email, and posting in her LJ that she had given men AIDS.

Trust me, nobody deserves this.

Stephan
