well we called golden mine to figure out what was wrong.. But theyre only open from 8:30am PST Time to 5:30pm PST wtf?

So.. we made a Call to UPS in Greensboro,NC and Here's what they told us :

They said that GoldenMine said there was some sort of address/addressee discrepency that they noted in the reason for intercept

What should I do? I'm pissed, I paid way over 1,000 dollars for this, and I don't wanna loose my ass on it.

If I had  1000 on the line, I would make sure I was available from 8:30 am pst to 5:30 pm pst tomorrow and find out where my shit was.

edited to add:  address/addressee thingy?  Sounds like the address on the credit card didn't match the shipping address.

Well.. My friend put it specific on the order that it wasnt going to Summner,WA so.. I dunno.

Two possibilities:

1.  The credit card company called you to verify the large purchase and couldn't, therefore they called the jewelry company back and declined to approve.

2.  The addresses don't match.

They are open 11:30am until 8:30pm your time.  You aren't available AT ALL during that time??

so was it your friend that ordered it or you?  That's gotta be the problem, someone needs to call the credit card company too.

I am confused here. You have friends order you stuff online with your credit card ?

Many websites require that the billing and shipping addresses be identical, and/or that the shipping address be associated with the credit card if they are different.  If that isn't the case, they frequently require additional validation that the purchaser is who she says she is; once the validation is in place, the order should be processed.

Sounds like the real issue is that the item was shipped before the validation process was complete, thus the reason for the intercept.

If there was an issue with the credit card, then the company(goldenmine) should have phoned, emailed, etc to let you know what was going on. Or at least the owner of the credit card.
Ive had customers  who have used their SO card number and alarms went off because the postal codes, and or area codes didnt match withthe billing info at the CC company.  And anything over a certain amount  is often verified with a call.
They may have jumped the gun on this one, shipped it, and had to recall it  pending clarification. However there is proof from UPS that the package is back in the shippers hands, so you need to get in touch with them, to find out what the situation is.

What kind of crackhead ships anything before the Credit Card is processed? Until there's an approval code, it shouldn't be going out the door.

HMMMM... Wanna bet they MISPACKED IT, and she would have gotten a VERY BIG SURPRISE when it arrived?

Under the UCC, the contract exists between the seller and the purchaser, and between the seller and the shipping company, and not between the purchaser and the shipping company. Therefore, if problems exist, the purchaser should communicate the problems with the seller and the seller has a duty to get the matter resolved.

HaveRopeWillBind -> RE: I need some advice on UPS (1/8/2008 10:26:04 AM)

December,
The simple solution seems to be to have GoldenMine ship it to your friend, since that way the shipping and billing addresses would match, then your friend can simply reship it to you without any CC involved. Sure it costs a bit more that way but if you are talking over a grand then it's a relatively negligible difference.

That's the good thing about paying with a credit card, you will not get screwed!  If you don't get it, charge it back!  Good luck with it.
