No big surprise.  It's been pretty clear that although marijuana has many of the same carcinogens present as in cigarettes, since marijuana users showed lower rates of cancer, there has to be some protective effect.  But trying to study marijuana in this country is a nightmare.  And there's a long way to go till anything useful comes out of this work.

Thats good news.  Hope they find something. 

A tobacco smoker smokes way more per day than a pot smoker does, almost 100% of the time.  Which I think explains why you see so much more lung cancer with Tobacco compared to pot.  Very few people use 10 grams of pot per day, especially for years on end.

Marijuana contains a lot of chemicals besides THC, this study was done using Derived Cannaboids, not doing bingers and blowing the smoke through a lab sample.  And part of the reason Pot is frowned on as medicince is that you can not controll an exact dosage.  But this a very good line of study, and I hope more work is done on it.
