murmur -> low libido? (1/6/2008 5:19:24 AM)

if i never, ever, masturbate and doesnt have the need to...does it mean i have a low libido or...damn, hate to ask that question cause i can almost predict the answers, but is it normal or a hormone problem? i've never heard of women who didnt have the need to masturbate regularly.

DCWoody -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 5:27:03 AM)

'normal'? that's a big question :)

could be diet......could be hormonal...could be that you're only 21 and just haven't started yet.....FYI once ya start, it's addictive.

camille65 -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 5:32:51 AM)

Ah I went through a five year phase of extremely low (fine, okay, dead libido) sexual need. For me it was due to the side effect of my SSRI.If it bothers you, then I suggest speaking to your doctor about it. It doesn't have to necessarily be something you have to live with if it causes you unhappiness. There can be so many causes. Stress, diet, hormone level. Like me a drug reaction. An illness undiagnosed, it is really impossible to say.As to normal? I have no idea. Mine wasn't normal but strangely it didn't bother me for a long long time. It was more of a strange remote concept, sex and orgasming. But.....................................I changed meds a couple of months ago?Holy cow. Hello libido![:D] [:)] [:D] [:)]I've been spending all my extra cash on batteries hehehehe. So there is a chance it can be changed.

MissMorrigan -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 5:47:43 AM)

Not everyone is inclined to masturbate and their focus is elsewhere, that doesn't mean they have low libidos as such, just that it isn't an important factor in their daily life. Prior to getting married I masturbated a lot, was very sexual and that altered when my marriage went tits up. As my ex hubby and I were (and still are) the best of friends, we remained in the same house years after our divorce, but I never felt the desire to masturbate. When I was ready to take a lover, and did, I became a bitch in heat - I still am for the most part, but I do have those periods (I'm not speaking of menstral ones) where my focus is elsewhere and I have no inclination to masturbate/engage in sex.

If you are asking out of curiosity, you'll find it's different for each individual and not uncommon that you don't masturbate or have any inclination to. If you feel there is an underlying medical issue you would like help with, as Camille65 said, do visit your g.p.

deadophelia -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 5:48:30 AM)

It could be any number of things. You could have a low libedo or you might just not like to. I do not have a low libedo. I could have sex 6 times a day and still be whining I wasn't getting it enough. But I hardly ever masturbate, even when I'm in a dry spell. I'd say I average about twice a year (not counting forced). It just isn't interesting to some of us.

Whether in a relationship that leaves me sexually turned on a lot of the time or alone, doing the solo thing, I have never needed to masturbate at all, much less regularly. Occasionally I play with toys to see if they have started to do much for me yet, but without a partner to enjoy watching it I find most forms of masturbation boring.

Can't tell ya what's normal, but you aren't the only one.

pompeii -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 6:43:08 AM)

I wish I had that problem.

daddysliloneds -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 7:02:14 AM)

no, it doesn't automatically mean that you have a low libido; it could mean that masturbating does nothing for you because you find that you can only be aroused while under someone elses control[:D]

MsBearlee -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 7:31:24 AM)

You might be depressed (even if you don't know it) or have some other emotional problem regarding sex (even if you don't know it), you could have something physically amiss, you could just need a bit of testosterone; yes women need (and produce) that hormone too...and it is what is responsible for sex-drive.

I might see a doctor; I'd most probably go to a health-food store and talk to a knowledgeable person about some of the creams available for just this purpose.

Good luck,
MsB

lateralist1 -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 7:51:27 AM)

So do I sometimes pompeii.
I don't think it matters what is normal. What matters is, is it a problem?
If it isn't broke don't worry about fixing it.
If you find the right sexual partner and it becomes a problem then think about fixing it.

DesFIP -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 8:41:01 AM)

If we assume that libido is a bell curve, then some people are hitting the outliers, the far ends of the curves with most of us solidly in the middle areas.

However, libido can be affected by so many factors that it's almost impossible to speculate on. The question here is if you are happy like this?

Are you depressed? Are you on any medication; prescription, herbal or otc? Should you be on medication but are noncompliant? Have you had a full physical lately including thyroid scan? Have you had your hormone levels checked? Are you under a lot of stress, doing grief work or conversely stuck in grief and need help progressing. Have you been ill, are you exercising? Any chance your periods are irregular or you are perimenopausal or just hit menopause. Is sex painful? Because if so, then you won't get aroused at the idea of having painful intercourse.

There's some really GREAT pressure points that you can use to "Turn On" your sex drive and if it's already on, than kick it into High Gear.  If your interested than message me and I'll send you some info on them (They're really easy)

RCdc -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 9:40:58 AM)

My question to you murmer is - is it a problem for you?  Do you want to masturbate and is it causing you concern that you aren't?  If it isn't a problem, then don't make it one.  It depends on your sex life as well.  Some people just never 'get off' on masturbation.  I have an incredibly high sex drive but would not say I privately masturbate 'regularly' because it just doesn't do it for me - even thought I have permission.  If my masturbation is controlled however, its totally different.

oliderid -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 9:46:40 AM)

My ex-girlfriend didn't like masturbation too. She never did it. There isn't anything wrong with that.
She could perfectly fantasy without touching herself as far as I know, I guess you too otherwise you wouldn't be here ;-).

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 11:49:15 AM)

I echo the others- are you sincerely happy and good with how things are for you?

littlebitxxx -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 11:58:04 AM)

I agree with the other posters, if it's not a problem why worry about it?  I have an extremely high libido, love sex pretty much anytime anywhere and as often as possible.  But I don't masturbate hardly at all, even during what someone else calls a "dry spell"  <chuckles>.  I find masturbation to be about the same arousal level as vacuuming....something that needs to be done to get a desired result.  Hmmpf!

murmur -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 12:08:06 PM)

DCWoody – i’ve started when i was 15 and i never got addicted!

Camille65 – thanks for sharing J it doesnt makes me unhappy, but i wondered often if i would be more happy if i was to be doing it more often…more women, you may say. I’m single also, could be that i’m not having enough stimulation from someone else..

MissMorrigan – that doesn't mean they have low libidos as such, just that it isn't an important factor in their daily life. I think that’s my case! I’m happy you came back to frequent periods of intense libido though, it’s always fun to have ;)

deadophelia – i hear ya, but are you saying that libido and sex itself comes (no pun intended), for you, in two different meaning? cause i would totally understand that. I can stay aroused for hours with no need to masturbate.

Elorin – we’re on the same wavelenght

pompeii - :P

daddysliloneds – it could be an explanation yes hehe

MsBearlee – I’m pretty much happy in my life, so i dont think depression is a problem for me, but i understand it can causes consequences in your body and libido.

lateralist1 – thanks for the advice

DesFIP – yes, i’m happy with it, when i’m with a partner, it causes nooo problem at all and i dont even think about it when i’m single so.. nope! and errr, 21 here, far away from premenopause or even menopause ;)

LoveAnDS – i’ll look into it, could be fun!

Darcyandthedark – nope, not a problem, just the need to know if i was women enough or not…

oliderid – thanks!

thank you for all the advices, really appreciated :)

murmur -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 12:10:00 PM)

LuckyAlbatross - yes! i am.

littlebitxxx - doing it alone is soooo boring...and what's a dry spell by the way ?[:-]

ghitaPVH -> RE: low libido? (1/6/2008 12:17:00 PM)

I feel like Ive got  pretty decent libido...at least Im always asking for sex anyway...so....shrugs...

but I rarely ever mastubate...just isnt interesting..rather boring. I have vibrators and all those things, but I much prefer to have someone else use them on me, using them by myself just doesnt do anything for me.

Ive thought about using the libido formulas anyway though, cause I have an issue with moisture production...which does make me feel like less of a woman all the time. I hate it, cause I really am horny and really want to fuck, but my body acts like its not interested at all and it sends really bad signals to the guy Im with.
