Status: offline 		A scientist from Russia says the earth is about to end it's warming period it entered in the 17th century...and a cooling will begin to take place as soon as 2012...

According to the scientist...
Astrophysics knows two solar activity cycles, of 11 and 200 years. Both are caused by changes in the radius and area of the irradiating solar surface. The latest data, obtained by Habibullah Abdusamatov, head of the Pulkovo Observatory space research laboratory, say that Earth has passed the peak of its warmer period, and a fairly cold spell will set in quite soon, by 2012. Real cold will come when solar activity reaches its minimum, by 2041, and will last for 50-60 years or even longer.

He goes on to say the increased CO2 in the atmosphere is actually coming from the oceans as the increased solar radiation removes the gas from the oceans and fills the atmosphere...He says the amount of CO2 produced by human industrial polution is much too small to to have a significant effect on global climate change.

I always thought the little ice age was in turn to a cycle that started when the world first had to deal with the gases formed as it was still molten magma.
What you think that much sulfur and dioxides just disappear with the rain?
Truth is it would take a dramatic cooling period,and mass torrential storms in turn...

Status: offline 		Damn I wish I thought of global warming. Gotta hand to Vice-President Al Gore; first the internet, then global warming.

The only thing comparable is Bill Gates and Micro-soft. Never finished, never working completely, a final 'enhancement' right around the corner-meanwhile we all keep buying.

The accuracy and science behind these global warming predictions is AMAZING!

Global warming, an entire industry created from thin air. Hope some of you joined me and got in on buying stock in the companies that manufacture non-iridescent light bulbs. Every house in the US will have to replace their ten cent bulb with a $2.50 CFL or LED version. Your government makes it mandatory by 2012. Lots of PAC money in play with this one. The story talks about consumer "savings", neglecting of course of consumer cost. Lets not talk about or reference another personal choice gone, "out like a light".

The Y2k problem was just delayed until around 2024.  A lot of the code that needed changed was just patched so that any date before 24 was 2024 but after 24 is 1924, for example.

By then, all COBOL programmers will be retired, pretty much permanently.  But hey, maybe things will have finally migrated to new databases.....riiiighhhht.

Status: offline 		yes I believe I read Europe is supposed to go into a mini ice age, thats what they think happened in what they call the dark ages. I think our food producing belt is included but cant really remember. 2012 is when they say all the ice will be gone which will change a lot of things

Status: offline 		He's not the only scientist that is saying that Owner, and you know it.  I am not saying it isn't happening.  If it is, what are we supposed to do about it?  They are already telling us that it's too late to save the coastlines of most of the world.  That's not exactly a new occurrence.  The entire city of Alexandria in ancient Egypt is under water.  There was no industrialization back then, so I suppose it was anger from a wrathful Zeus.  The world's climate and geography changes all the time, and it is not anything we can control with our current technology.

In my latest projections, I believe the alien overrace horde will be here by 2011. While they won't actually harm any humans directly, they will eat all of our ice in their crazed Icee lust. By 2012, all of the ice will be gone, and then they'll move on.

Status: offline 		As a growing member of society, what do I take from all these climate forecast issues? To build a house with great insulation. I'm going to make nice, thick cinderblock walls, reinforced heavily. Gamma rays, heavy temperatures, blasts, whatever.. I'll have some fair resistance against it and save on the heatting/cooling bills. :D

Not that it would save me if a full-blown ice age came on, or if the surface of Earth became molten, but it would be a fair bit of resillance against less exotic climates.
