Rule -> Family tragedy (1/2/2008 1:32:29 AM)

About one hour ago I was informed that my eldest brother (64) last night died from a massive stroke.

At the moment I am calm about it. He was a dear brother and we would rather not have lost any of our relatives this year. When I was a child he used to carry me on his shouders.

Soon I will travel to my relatives. I expect to be not online for about one week.

Oh Rule, I am so very sorry to hear this and sorry for the pain and shock you must be feeling.  I will pray for peace of heart for you and your loved ones.  I also will pray that you feel comfort as you offer comfort, feel light in the happier memories and form stronger bonds through your sadnesses.

Please drive safely, watch after yourself and stay in God's love.

~Chrissy

Having lived so many years knowing you, and other good people I'm sure, his life must've been a fulfilling one.

Remember not to say goodbye, it's just see you later when we connect again.
I know sorries don't cut it at time of loss.  You get tired of hearing them early on.

Celebrate his life...that's more than likely what he would want you to do, now isn't it?

My condolences on your loss.

When I am feeling down about dearly departed loved ones, I keep this in mind:

The atoms that make up our bodies were forged in the interior of stars at the beginning of time. Through eons they drifted as gas through the depths of space before coming together as our sun and Earth. They have been part of the hot magma and the seas that sculpted the young earth. They have been part of plants and animals through the ages, finally coming together to form us – a self aware entity in which the whole is truly greater than the sum of it’s parts. Upon our death our atoms continue their journey, becoming once again a part of the earth, and new plants and animals. Billions of years from now, when the earth is no more, they will continue as gas floating through the endless reaches of space until they come together again to be a part of new stars, new planets and perhaps even new life. In other words:

Each and every one of us is a part of the universe, we always have been and always will be.

And a little closer to home....they say that every breath you take contains 12 molecules of air that Julius Caesar breathed.

So, your brother is not long gone.................ever.

You have my empathy.
