Actually it is not just the Feds but many local governments who have passed laws banning or restricting Medical Marihuana Stores.  They have as the article pointed out become a center for illegal activities.  Many sell MJ for unspecific alliments or as treatment from the common cold to curing cancer.  The whole thing has become a joke.

I can't wait to read a story where the DEA raids and arrest a Six year old with three months to live who was eating weed.

What charges will be brought on to the Parents, Doctor, and Hospice Nurse?

What we need is a candidate for President who understands that the feds have no jurisdiction, under the constitution, to be interfering with a states regulation of such matters.
Now where would we find such a candidate?
Oh yes, we already have:
Dr. Ron Paul.

NeedToUseYou -> RE: legalized pot, Calif (1/2/2008 2:31:36 PM)

It's just ridiculous period that the federal government is involved in busting people for pot. Hands down, pot is way less harmful than alcohol. I've known personally close to a 100 pot smokers. I was a pot smoker for a few years in my early twenties. And all my experience shows that pot is way way way less dangerous than alcohol. Hands down, as in no comparison. I also looked up scientific information about pot before first doing it, and it's way less addictive than most drugs. Cigarettes would almost make sense banning, but pot! Come on. It's just ridiculous. It's a joke.

It's impossible for me to take anyone serious that believes that pot should be illegal, especially if they think it should be the business of the federal government. It's the least of all drugs, most painkillers (US has more people on pain medication than any other country, is that for the pain only. Doubt) have much higher rates of addiction, and doctors will give them out without a care. I know several people addicted to pain pills.

It's just stupid to spend money chasing the least of all drugs, while creating a nation addicted to far worse legal and illegal drugs. Where is the logic?

ANonnyMoose -> RE: legalized pot, Calif (1/2/2008 2:33:11 PM)

All they need is just some love. Free the weed, right? I'm still a pot smoker and it's awesome. It's only a matter of time before they legalize it or atleast decriminalize it, don't get too upset about it just ride it out. And don't be a bogart.

Needtouse you says:

It's impossible for me to take anyone serious that believes that pot should be illegal.

so who are you supporting for president?
someone who you can't even take seriously?
doesn't make much sense to me.

I support Ron Paul. Actually same as you do.

I think you may have misread my post if you got a different impression.
