Here, bondage, gags, and blindfold are the norm.
But sensation play can include rubbing over a person with various materials. An ice cube isn't painful but it is a burst of strong sensation when you aren't expecting it. Wax play shouldn't burn and be painful. The occasional drop of warmth melting over you and then hardening. Running a butter knife over someone isn't painful but can be very effective.
Being told not to move because he's cutting off your clothing isn't painful but it is hot.
Tickling, not to the point of overload, is a definite exercise in control.
I find a light to moderate spanking to be exciting, not painful.
