It is rather common for D/s couples to enjoy the sitting at the feet, or kneeling on the knees, but some people don't get that same feeling about this.

He doesn't like me at his feet if I can possibly sit next to him, he likes having me around to talk to and to entertain him intellectually, which is tricky to do if I am being lowly at his feet. He also doesn't need me "down there" in order to feel dominant over me. He is dominant no matter where we sit. But that is just us. Different people require different things to give them that squishy power exchange feeling, for me it is when he pulls me across the room cave man style by my hair, or swats me when he wants me to move faster... we all have our "kinks".

Good points and while i do agree with you...i can and do have intellectual conversations with Daddy, and am well able to hold my own part, while i am at His feet just as when i am sitting next to Him. He doesnt need me down there to show me He is Dominant anymore than i do, but He enjoys me sitting at His feet, especially when He is doing something else, be it watching tv, or playing a game or reading a book...to know i am that close so that i am avaiable whenever He may feel the need for me or wants to call on me to do His bidding.

that is where the feeling of heaven comes in. being available to Him whenever He needs me instead of Him having to call for me from another room. as i said recently in my journal...

"the thought of being tied up and beat with a belt was like out of a horror film just a few short months ago. and why on earth would anyone sit at her "Master's" or "Daddy's" feet when she could be doing something she wanted to do was a question i would have asked just a year ago. and why would anyone call her "guy" Master or Daddy? and yet here i am..."

yes, here i am...calling Him Daddy, sitting at His feet, knowing that He enjoys me being there as much as i enjoy pleasing Him...so i will continue to sit at Daddy's feet or wherever else He may want me, or for that matter doing anything else He may want me to do.

being at His feet is such a small thing, which gives Him such great pleasure, and after all, is that not what I am here for.

If you felt I was saying a person could not be intellectual because of sitting at someone's feet, I did not say that, I was speaking of my relationship, nothing more.

I used to sit at my ex husband's feet so he could play with my hair, and I was not submissive to him and I did not feel submissive when I would sit between is legs so he could play with my hair... I suppose my post was a statement that not everyone interacts the same way, and not all actions are submissive or dominant...

My Daddy would get annoyed if I was constantly sitting there awaiting his commands in the same room at his feet, my point is that different people have different ways of doing things, not that your way is flawed or wrong or more or less submissive than my way. It all comes down to what our dominants require of us.

My Daddy does tell me where to sit sometimes, but he prefers I use furniture.. it is following his preference that makes me feel submissive, not the actual place I sit...that is all I am saying

It feels right and absolutely normal to me. I would say that I spend a good amount of time with him sitting on the floor at his feet, so its not really like a big event when it happens - I'm just precisely where I should be.
