Alrighty...it is that time of year again.
Of course I am making several New Year's resolutions.
Actually, only 2 or3, that is realistic, for ME.
I don't want to bore people with the ususal resolutions most of us make.

I wanted to start a thread about New Year's resolutions you will NOT make!
Habits or ways of being, that you enjoy, that you plan to continue, even IF most
people would try to change them.
 
What vices do you have that you enjoy and plan to continue in 2008?
For me, a few of mine include:
Spending way too much time online.
Watching probably too much t.v.
Enjoying  shows like the "Bad Girls Club", "Nancy Grace", "Judge Judy", "Family Guy",
"What Not To Wear" and all the other shows I enjoy.
I plan to continue to enjoy occasional late night beers, and dancing in the dark.
Flirting and talking trash to men online.
 
I plan to continue to enjoy just being ME, the good, the bad and the damn ugly.
Self-acceptance/self-love is wonderful!
Who is else happy, to be themself and to continue being themself in 2008?

Seriously, it is easier for me to change habits that I embrace.
That is why 90% of most resolutions FAIL, and people feel bad about themselves.
You can not usually change what you don't accept.

I make a resolution every week to quit smoking; I just have to finish off the carton I have left.  I can't be wasteful after all.  But, I have swore that 2008 will be the year I quit. 

Since I don't want to gain 20 or 30 lbs as a result, I promised myself to eat healthier, lay off the beer, and exercise more when I quit.  I will also have to temporarily give up coffee and alcohol, because I associate them both with smoking.  So, no more of my weekend visits to the tavern for beers and billiards.  Also I will have to stay away from the racetrack, because I often enjoy drinking a few beers and having a cigarette when I am picking my horses in the bar.  We shall see if I actually keep any of those resolutions.  If I had to put money on it, I'd put it on not.

Ha!  My resolution, since i am NOT quiting smoking, was to start rolling my own cigs.  Thank you, Supermatic II Cigarette Making Machine!!

slaveboy, I hope you do eventually give up the cigarettes, they are also very expensive!

I will continue to be a dreamer. I will continue to speculate on things like life on other planets, UFO conspiracies, anti-gravity technology, demons, angels, reptilians, nehpilim, elves, fairies, unicorns, an d other things that I have never seen any emperical proof to support the existance of. I will continue to believe in santa clause, the easter bunny, and even the tooth fairy even though they haven't visited me in decades. I will continue to accumulate knowledge that is of no immediate use to me or anyone else. I will still continue to say "yes but" whenever someone tells me how the universe is supposed to work, then do furious research to back up my theory - even if my theory is undermined by what I find out. I will not give up the ghost. I will continue to talk to my cats as if they could understand me. I will continue to get angry at the furniture that I trip on (It got in my way on purpose!) Even if I believe wholeheartedly in something, I will still roll my eyes and offer a rational counter-argument when people I know go overboard.

No parties for me tonight.  I am down with a nasty cold.  I have been keeping myself doped up with cough medicine all day, and vegging in front of the computer and t.v.  All of y'all have a fun time tonight and throw one back for me.

Nor not to be judgmental... I could use a little judgment.

But I suppose I would rather concentrate on what I want, rather than what I do not... so perhaps a New Year's resolution thread is in the offing

Faeries do exist...since i am one :) Aliens exist because i was abducted by surgeons and they put a device in me called a pacemaker! anti-gravity exists ive seen it in bugs bunny cartoons! demons exist...richard simmons is one of them! ANGEL ina Jolie is an angel! Not sure about elves or the other things u mentioned though.
