Status: offline 		I'm too late to give the OP useful advice but here's some for anyone going to the public dungeons/clubs in NYC.

Unless they have seriously changed policies -- wear shoes at all times and don't put your hands or fingers in your month after you've touched anything there before you clean up. While having penetrated sex was not allowed when I was in NYC, people (mostly men) did wank off quite frequently and the floors and other surfaces could get nasty fast.

The policies have changed and the wanking is no longer an issue. I have been there recently and the only thing that may be "unpleasant" is some lurking. It never bothered me as I love an audience and have even asked the Domme I was playing with to invite one to join if they passed by to watch more than 3 times.

choices are there, but kept well under the radar and by invite only...I was in Manhattan for a few big holiday balls, will be back there for an 'Eyes Wide Shut' party end of January. . .and new one to open just across the border in NJ. . .

I'll be at the Rubberball there in a few weeks.  Although I know one or two that hold private parties I don't get into the city often enough to attend many.  Plus I'm usually in the city visiting friends and I don't play with strangers.. Paddles is the only place to go "on a whim".  Oh well.

I actually wish I could have been there when they allowed the masturbating. Besides loving being watched, I think it would be so HOT if those getting off on watching me would unload all over me. Bukakke is kind of a fetish of mine. It is like the ultimate in objectification.

Status: offline 		I had a really great time at Paddles last night. It wasn't too crowded and the extra play rooms were great. We played in the dungeon, the school classroom and the oriental throne room. Everyone was very respectful. I would say about a third of the crowd were older male voyeurs but I didn't see any open masturbation. Overall the place was pretty clean. The food and champagne wasn't very good but that wasn't really what we were there for. There were plenty of couples and we even met some new friends.

Playing in public turned out to be a major turn-on for me and we had too much fun. I loved being watched and we put on a pretty good show. (Even though I can't compete with some of the marks the other subs were taking.) It was nice to walk around, mostly naked, among people who thought that was completely normal. I think we'll go back again.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons they've stayed open a lot longer than other venues, because they crack down on any health-code violations and things that'd put'm outside of the law. Important stuff.

Good on ya! It really is quite a rush that first time in public, that feeling of normalcy and belonging. I've only been a handful of times myself, and already Paddles feels like a home-away-from-home.

It's the public potential to exchange body fluids so randomly and potentially dangerous that I objected to.

I'm glad to heard, sammiebabygirl, that the clubs have cleaned up.

Now if the lighting were changed, the music toned down, and I lived back there I might be tempted to go.

Hellfire was fun because it was a nasty pit! I remember the first time I went to Hellfire and it was exactly what I thought a BDSM club should be like - filled with smoke, dirty, naked guys masturbating, and not well lit.

Edited add: I never minded the wankers at Hellfire, I think it added to the ambiance and the feel of the place.  If I remember properly Hellfire closed because of the gentrification of the meat packing district where it was located and to be fair Paddles has had ten gazillion locations and up to a few years ago (last time I went) definitely had wankers, so I think their existence has more to do with last man standing than any sort of anti-wanking policy.
