Is it possible to engage in BDSM play while listening to the dead? I know I can't do it, I'm to busy listening to the jam. Maybe that's just my bum dead headiness. But Scralet-Fire, or Don't Ease Me In just don't mix with scening for me.

I hear Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back, maybe give him a shot?

(But seriously, all cheesiness aside, the rythm on that album is perfect for sex.)

I don't rock the Grateful Dead when scening but there's nothing better than Mickey Hart's Planet Drum series for all types of play!

You could always try The String Cheese Incident or Phish...:)

Blues or slow jazz does it for me :-)

Granted, if I ever find a Dom who will play opera in the bedroom, I will have found my soulmate.

I'm among those that can't scene to the Dead.  Too mellow and vaguely annoying to me in a way that does inspire creative cruelty lol!  I enjoy some of their work, but for scening or other play?  Not for me.

I spent too much time at their concerts to be able to scene to it.  (not that I remember much of the concerts, lol)  But, still...  no.  It would be a type of sacrilege to me.

some music just does not belong in a dungeon. I could not imagine scening to the dead or to the theme song to seseme steet.

One song that I think would be great for scening to is Atreyu's cover of "You give love a bad name" but some how think that would be somewhat distraction and would have all the Bon Jovi fans in the room screaming the safeword.

Oh dear! Was it only Me who thought the opening line referred to some spiritual seancey stuff LMAO?? Glad I read on!

Actually despite (or maybe because of?) being a very musical person, I don't like music while I am scening, either as a sub or as a Domme. I get distracted by it, especially if it has lyrics, I'm a terror for singing along LOL! Or one song will remind Me of another and I start thinking about that ... either way, it keeps Me from focusing on the bdsm. I'd rather hear only the sounds of the responses from the sub ... or if i am the one subbing, to my sounds and Master's delicious words! Master is also very musical but is not fond of music while scening as He worries that He might miss something ... a safeword or even a particular sound ... that might otherwise clue Him into a problem. So W/we are the "silent sceners!" Anyone else?

Roger L of Shotgun Videos (gay male leather porn) sings opera, and beautifully.  He competed in the talent show at ThunderintheMountains.com a couple summers back and was totally robbed.

Slow jazz, nonvocals here. I get torn out of headspace if vocals intrude. The only voice I can focus on is his.

There are actually two releases, Planet Drum and  Supralingua! (Credited to Mickey Hart and Planet Drum) only the first is called Mickey Hart's Planet Drum.  FANTASTIC SCENE and afterparty music! I hear a he is about to release a new next year, 10 years after Supra.

And Om Lounge, INCREDIBLE!

but hey that's just me

I can't scene to anything by Enigma anymore.  Or Enya or any of the slow, bombastic-type stuff I thought was very pretty back in high school but got old after the hundredth hearing, mind numbing after the five hundredth, and makes me want to pop my own ear drums after the thousandth.  Such a buzz kill, that stuff.
