Owner59 -> Iraqi hairdressers forced underground ,chalk up another success (12/26/2007 4:24:39 PM)

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071226/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_secret_salons

Sunni and Shiite militants began blowing up salons roughly two years ago. They killed several stylists and bullied others into putting down their scissors and makeup brushes for good, all in an effort to stamp out what they view as the corrupting spread of Western culture.

If that's true the Iraqis should kidnap those militants and torture them then kill them.
Cut off their heads and put them on a pike pole in public where the other "militants" can see them.

Hey popeye, it worked in Medieval England just fine! I want to find out if this is true, if so, I want to know more about it so thank you for bringing it up O59.

Best,

EG

This kind of thing just makes it obvious they need a culture war over there.

It's about time.

Chalk another one up indeed.

Well obviously it didn't happen under Hussein, because these hairstylists never would have had a chance to exist at all.

So you would rather they stayed under a government that severely restricted women's rights to the point that hair stylists are considered dangerous? A real humanitarian you are.

Somehow we're twisting this into a "Let's blame the US for everything!" when the real criminals here are obviously these Muslim extremists. Eliminate them, as popeye eloquently put it, and you eliminate the problem.

Who said that under HUSSEIN that hair stylists were dangerous?

DIDN'T YOU ***READ*** THE FUCKING ARTICLE BEFORE OPENING YOUR MOUTH AND EMBARASSING YOURSELF???

From The Fucking Article:

quote:

"See this salon?" said the stylist Kifah, as she deftly lopped off a woman's dark hair into smart layers in her east Baghdad establishment. "It's never been empty, not through the Iraq-Iran war, the Gulf war or this war. Women are women, they always want to look good."

Open during Iraq-Iran and Gulf War and Invasion of Iraq means they were OPEN UNDER HUSSEIN'S GOVERNMENT!

Lashra -> RE: Iraqi hairdressers forced underground ,chalk up another success (12/27/2007 8:02:30 AM)

It is terrible that the extremists fear and hate women so much. Yes they do need a culture war over there to put a stop to this kind of craziness.

Hey, keep digging!

Maybe you'll discover that Iraq women have more hang-nails now than they did under Saddam.

Obviously another injustice of earth-shattering proportions to be laid directly at the feet of the Oppressor known as Bushilter, eh?

That was your purpose, wasn't it? Another attempt to de-legitimize the war?

All the positive news from Iraq has your head spinning around with foam literally being slung from your mouth doesn't it?

Hey, don't worry yet. It's always possible that continued Syrian and Iranian help could cause an upsurge in terrorists murders and car bombing.  Maybe a few more 'Merikan "stormtroopers" could be hit by IEDs and sent back in boxes - making the front pages of the NYT and CNN's half-hourly roundup.  It's about time for a "Tet Offensive" anyway, ya know.

Then, you'd be more than happy to "chalk up another success" wouldn't cha?

Since the Invasion and Occupation of Iraq wasn't legitimate in the first place, there is no reason to "De-legitimize" it.
