Raul Castro says Fidel ready for new bid By WILL WEISSERT, Associated Press WriterTue Dec 25, 10:47 AM ET Fidel Castro remains on the mend, gaining weight, exercising twice a day and continuing to help make the Cuban government's top decisions, his brother Raul Castro says. The island's acting president gave the first clues about his brother's health in weeks, saying during a Monday speech that he has a "healthier mentality, full use of his mental faculties with some small physical limitations." The artcle had funny but sadly true statement about US democracy: "Speaking of Cuba's electoral system, Raul Castro noted that U.S. democracy pits two identical parties against one another, and joked that a choice between a Republican and Democrat is like choosing between himself and his brother Fidel. "We could say in Cuba we have two parties: one led by Fidel and one led by Raul, what would be the difference?" he asked. "That's the same thing that happens in the United States ... both are the same. Fidel is a little taller than me, he has a beard and I don't.""

awm, absolutely true, unless we get somebody like Ron Paul in there. I would never step down unless the People voted me out. Nuff said ? T

Castro won't ''step down'' until he falls down dead. Even then I wouldn't be so sure that they won't prop him up, call out the make up guys and say ''all is well, he's 150 and look how fine he is.''

Gives me a great idea for a horror movie: "Castro's Brain" It's about a bannana republic dictator who dies, but his loyal followers use the superior Cuban public health care system to keep his brain alive in a tank... Slowly, the brain goes mad, being unable to smoke cigars... when one night, the tank is hit by a combination of radiation and a lightining bolt. The brain mutates, crawls from it's tank, and grows to giant proportions, menacing the populace of Cuba until a plucky Texan President strafes the titanic predatory organ with napalm! Landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier, he declares "Mission Accomplished!" Unaware that the brain was only stunned by his attack.... Thus, we're left open for a sequel: "Castro's Brain vs. Mecha-Cheany!"
