I thought I would be spending Christmas alone. But my little brother (he's 30)and his girlfriend spent Christmas Eve with me. They are now finally asleep in the next room. I got to enjoy the Christmas eve by drinking a few with my brother and listen to him tell me and his gal how much he loved us. All of that was nice; I laughed and enjoyed sharing childhood stories. But I also got to endure the yuletide tradition of listening to one of my drunken relatives cry for a couple of hours. As usual, I had to remind him that I had neighbors. I love my brother to death, but he really gets on my nerves. I have been up all night with no sleep. I finally got his girlfriend to put him to bed an hour ago. He got out prison a year ago, but he hasn't fully adjusted to things yet. However when I read a post like this, I am thankful. I wish y'all lived near here. I would invite you over to eat supper with us. We aren't having much. I bought a ham; we are going to have macaroni & cheese, turnip greens, scalloped potatoes, and an apple pie with vanilla ice cream. It's not much, and we are a dysfunctional family. But, I thank God for all of it. Merry Christmas to you all.
