Hows about this ?

I wish you a good day, every day. Cherish each one, as they are numbered. I need no holiday, if you break it down it means Holy Day. We need no such thing. When people do right by others and try to make each other happy, holidays are pretty much useless.

Every day you wake up you can thank, or curse your God or whoever you figure created everything. That usualy depends on if you have to work that day.

Like a cop on a megaphone "Put the credit card down, and step away from the mall", this is all wrong. I have to give somebody something ? Why ?

Gifts that mean something mean alot more. For example I got a set of guitar straings. Six bucks. I appreciate that, and I let that be known. When I think of what they could've gotten me for ten times the price, it's true that it might not be something I want.

Six bucks.All it takes.

The whole culture that has grown up around Christmas is repugnant to me. When you see a Man crying because he can't feed his family, why is it that you would feel differently because of it being Christmas time ?

Take that spirit and divide it by 365, and feel it every day of the year. People will still be cold and starving in February,

The only good thing about Christmas is that it is a reminder. Something that gets alot of people out of the selfish mode. We shouldn't need Christmas but we do.

We really do.

Merry Christmas to everyone too, even Termyn8or

This time of year we delude our children that there is still someone out there who does stuff out of the kindness of his heart.
And we adults delude ourselves that there is some shred of good left in humanity as a whole and that in the end all the crap that gets washed over us will be worth it.

It might be a delusion, but it's one of the less harmful ones to have.

I dont delude myself that there is a "shred of good" in the world. I know damn well theres good in the world. I put good into it almost every day of the year. Just part of my job as humanitarian I guess. I do good and people have done good for me and mine. I try to keep that in mind during the down days as well.

So Happy Xmas to those that can be happy I suppose. To the rest of you, Happy Xmas as well. xo Sophie

Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year to all here in the forums, regulars or not, and especially to those I don't always agree with when opinions fly. No matter the topic I never forget that we are all people on here, so At this time of Good Tidings I wish you all the best. For those who don't happen to subscribe to Christian beliefs I still wish you a great December 25th.
