For those of you for which romance is a part of your relationships, what is the most romantic gift you have ever given or received?

Hey Erin -
I guess it does come down to what you define romance to be.  For me, it would be something that showed love, deep thought and something that made me feel connected to him where ever I was - something unique - something given with trust and love, that gave me refuge and a safe place to always be should I need.
So my answer would be the keys to his home.

Master gave me a watch and told me time started when he collared me and since it ran on a battery he got me 50 batteries for each year he had hoped we would be together..Three years and counting so far.

Wow there are some great things here (IMO) as far as the romance category goes. It's nice to see that it isn't dead.

i have done a lot of romantic things for others but rarely had them done for me....my Daddy is mostly the only one to do what i find romantic.

Xmas-2005 We had been apart, going through alot of drama and Daddy just wanted to let me know he loved me and was there for me....He sent me a 2lb bag of cotton candy flavored Jelly Bellies to my house (i wear cotton candy perfume). That almost made me cry.

Xmas 2006- i had just finished taking cake decorating classes and Daddy got my certificates framed for me...again i almost cried.

Xmas 2007- Someone stole my bicycle, which is my only independent transportation, Daddy let me use his bike and then today he gave me a bike to replace the one that was stolen and it was identical to my old one (which i loooved)

He has done some other things that i think are romantic too....Mother's Day a couple years ago he set up the jacuzzi tub and lit candles all around and made me french toast...what a great way to wake up :)...There have been other things as well but that's the general idea.

One romantic thing i did for him, (which is totally hard to do for a man)...He had just gotten involved in the business that he is in...had been involved for a little over a year. They have alot of convention things and take a ton of pics at all of them...So i went back through his first year + of being in the business and found and printed out all of the pics with Him and his friends and put them in a very masculine photo album...it chronicles his time in the business and is a great keep sake with all his buddies.

We were recently joking about the Name a Star thing..and he said he wanted a galaxy or solar system or something....LOL was cute :)

Well, apart from the whole "International Star Registry star naming is not recognized by the scientific community.
Your stars name is reserved in International Star Registry records only." comment on their site. Still, if it was possible to do for real it'd be nice!

Quite pissy of you and you should be ashamed trying to ruin his memory of a lovely gesture for someone he loved.  Evil imp~

For me ,on my birthday my Master had listened to a heartsick slave talk about an LP , blue mind you, of Elvis, that my mother had given away months earlier. So he looked for months without the name of the lp ,just knowing it was Elvis and it was really blue. He found it and gave it to me on my birthday. So special and heartfelt. I cried with the thought of him looking and caring so much. I am soo happy to call him my Master

Some years ago, to a Lady with whom i was enamored.  She loved donuts.  For valentine's day, i talked the local baker into making donuts in the shape of hearts.  She loved those special donuts.  (As an aside, the baker also liked the idea and started to make those donuts availble on V-Day.)  Unfortunately, external issues split She and i apart, but that is a whole different story..

I am wearing it as we speak.
Fox had been complaining about not having the money to get me a gift for Christmas. It didnt matter in the slightest to me, and I told him so time and time again. He came out to see me yesterday, which was lovely. He stayed the night, and this afternoon he left when I did for work.
However, instead of heading home like he was supposed to, he took his christmas money and went shopping.
He has my key, and he let himself back in and left a very sweet (if a tad difficult to read) note and a jewelry box for me to find when I got home from work. A hand written note, even if it is harder to read than a typed one, mean the world to me. And the necklace and very simple square cut charm are beautiful. Simple, not big and quite my style.
Needless to say I was quite floored. I didnt expect anything and would have been perfectly content not to get anything. But to come home to that... a very romantic way to spend our first Christmas, even if it does have to be apart.

A photographer friend of mine sent me some photos of a place we had taken a stroll together last summer.  he took them in the fall. ( he remembered that Autumn is my favorite season. [:)]  I was quite taken with the path and the old wooden fence along the path.  He also snapped a shot of the veiw of the creek that I thought would be the best angle.  ( prolly not, but so sweet of him to snap it anyway).  Romance for me is when one really listens to another and reflects back to them someway, what they are saying they value. [:)]

CollaredKitty07 -> RE: Romantic gifts? (12/24/2007 11:10:38 PM)

A few months ago, my master rented a car, drove to my location from Portland ME (about a 2 hour drive), grabbed me, brought me BACK to Portland, and we stayed for a night in a very nice hotel.

It felt like the classic "sweeping away" scenario, and I loved it to death [:)]

... how does one buy a romantic gift for a man?

Knowing he uses money clips, I bought him one and had it engraved with the insignia he had designed and had tattood on me just a few months prior.  It was something very personal to him, and my way of hanging out in his pocket all day.  :)

I also once found an obscure vineyard with my actual name (a foreign name, rare in this country).  I bought it for him "so you can keep me in your cellar."  (he has a wine cellar).

When he first began training me, knowing he was into wizardry, I bought an "authentic coin" complete with papers, etc., of the Sorcerers Apprentice, since he is a Sorcerer and I was his apprentice.  :)

I try to get things that are unique and personal to us.  I don't know if they can be considered romantic, but he always gets this pleased and warm look on his face when he opens them.

I feel the best thing he ever bought was my collar and a matching bracelet he bought for himself.  I was surprised and amazed he wanted the bracelet.

As many know, we're not into the "romance thing" but we have certainly shared some touching moments when

A former beau of mine had told me about a painting he saw a few years back that he was quite enamoured with, but undecided whether or not he should purchase it.  He walked around the gallery a bit, made up his mind to buy it, and when he went back, it had just been sold.

I commisioned the artist to repaint the painting that my beau had seen and always regretted not buying and gave it to him for Christmas.  Not sure if it counts as romantic, but he was indeed very surprised!  :)

Absolutely superb question!

I was 40 or so, met a woman online (vanilla) and I asked her out.

We met for dinner, and as she's getting out of her car, she handed me a rose.

Pure class.

The most romantic?  Hard to say, although if I had to pick one, I would say the ornaments on my christmas tree.

This post was all part of my Owner's carefully planned Christmas surprise for me.  You see, we'd pretty much accepted(or so I thought) that we would not get to see one another on Christmas.  She was working and I was spending time with my six bajillion relatives.  So, Christmas night, I was walking around my house eating gravy.  My family was in the living room watching Frasier.  I walked in for a second, munching on my gravy(it was very good) and generally relaxing.

Then, as I cut a corner into my kitchen...she was standing right there.  She'd apparently been plotting with my family for most of the month on surprising me for Christmas.  I squealed... :-)
