For those of you for which romance is a part of your relationships, what is the most romantic gift you have ever given or received?

When my ex bought me my engagement ring... that was pretty romantic.

If you meant Christmas presents? I cannot remember ever receiving a romantic Christmas present... most of the romantic presents I received were not heavily romantic... they were more along the lines of things I need.. which is greatly appreciated of course.

I will say one of the more romantic things that Sinergy has given me was when he made me chocolate candy... no one but him ever made me candy... and that was very romantic.

I give things that are with them in mind, things that I know they will enjoy... how does one buy a romantic gift for a man?

Name a real star for them, for example "Poppa's precious". It will forever bear that name, officially.

I once gave a different, and somewhat romantic, gift to a bf.  I talked to half a dozen or so of his pals and arranged a river-rafting trip for them.  (The guys paid their own way, but the fact that it was an all-guy trip is what made it a 'romantic' gift (in their eyes...LOL))

Anyway, with guys lined up, I arranged the trip, got the guide, the 'gourmet lunch', rides to and fro, etc... and then created a card by cutting out different letters from magazines and pasting them onto card-stock.  It was sort of a 'kidnap-ransom' looking thing...with full itinerary, date, etc.

"Because I love you, I'm sending you away..."  was how it opened.

Well...he loved it    ...perhaps ya had to have been there~

...and of course there is that ol' "Jar of wishes" thang, where one prettily prints various 'personal acts of love' on paper, folds each one and fills the jar (duplicates are allowed).

The point is, of course, that whenever your loved one chooses to open the jar and remove a 'wish'...you will do whatever it is he chooses, right then and there.  Hmmmmmmmm... perhaps this is a moot point in a D/s relationship!  LOL   <shrugs>

For my last SO, I bought her a day at a spa that included massage, facial, hair, make-up.  I picked her up afterwards, took her to a beautiful dinner and then to a Bed & Breakfast in the mountains where her every wish was my command.  Sounds trite, but very effective!

When Master first put a permanent locking collar around my neck, He also hung a diamond heart. He said, "I own all of you, but you have my heart".

That was one year ago yesterday. Sigh.

He removed the locking steel collar due to health reasons (I now wear a stirling silver one that is removed at night), but His heart is next to my body 24/7.

A girl I once knew found these two small vases in  market in Spain (I think)for a few pounds ..they had barbed wire embedded in them winding up the stem of the glass and with a rose added they looked quite cool, she gave one to me and kept the other herself.....I guess they may sound a bit tacky but I loved them and appreciated the thought behind them.

Well, my wife has this thing for a certain 1970's brit band... When it turned out they were doing a reunion gig/fan convention about an 8 hour drive away from us, I sold my morotcycle to pay for her gas, tickets to the concert, a hotel room for two nights, and the food she'd need. I also got her a camera to record the trip.

She had never seen them in person before. Never had the chance.

What the hell... you only go around once.

What about giving something you two can do together?  Buy one of those kits where you can build a bird or bat-house?  Buy a couple pre-built bird-houses and a little set of paints so you can decorate them together?  Get several bird-feeders you can hang where you can watch the critters, add feed and a book on local birds?

Or something more individual; I like to make up odd 'boxes' of goodies for the kitchen, that I know my friend will love.  Could be a six-pack of different salsas I know they'd like to try but probably never buy.  Perhaps add a couple bags of unusual dipping-chips?  Or maybe a selection of hot sauces, ice cream-sauces, flavored popcorn or even a meal for one who doesn't cook.  It's fun to get a bunch of gormet goodies to create some sort of themed meal:  Italian/French/etc, picnic, spicy hot, only deserts... whatever.  Once I found some penis-pasta (honest!), so perhaps a sexual-theme would be fun, too!  LOL

I received an engagement ring one Christmas.  It was completely unexpected as we were planning on getting engaged sometime the following spring.  It was wonderful.

On my Birthday Daddy got me a U.S. Mint proof set from the year I was born, and then  the proof sets from this year. He said one set was from the year I came to the world...and the others were from the year I came into His life. I'm not sure...but that felt romantic to me...

Well, apart from the whole "International Star Registry star naming is not recognized by the scientific community.
Your stars name is reserved in International Star Registry records only." comment on their site. Still, if it was possible to do for real it'd be nice!
