This site is interesting...I go back and forth between sometimes thinking it's just a wash and I should pack it in and then, finding someone on here that sounds interesting enough for me to pursue him, at least for a while...strange place, this CM.

Yes, I feel the same way. I have gotten emails that were excellent, had great conversations with some on the phone, only to find that they *poofed*.
I've met about 50 people since I came to cm and have made some excellent friends, been served, played, and the flip side: All that time wasted reading emails where nothing is ever going to happen, the liars, wankers, etc. Then I decide to go off of cm. The next time I check my mail, someone real is there, so I am drawn back in.
I enjoy the forums on some days and have a lot of fun laughing, etc. Other times it seems the forums have the same crap, day after day.
Overall this site has been fantastic! I never thought I could find so many great people on the internet. I was on some other dating sites before and they were a total wash. At least here I have connected many times with real people, interesting and dynamic subs and Dommes.
Through my connections here on cm I have enjoyed some local munches and parties, gotten back into public play, and had a grand old time with private play also.
I am still looking lazily for my 'number 1', however I am having so much fun now with bdsm friends, I am not actively wasting any energy on seeking a number 1.
I expect they will plop in my lap when the time is right, and that's ok with me.
