Speaking only for myself sex and BDSM are two distinct entities which are mutually exlusive.  There are numerous times where I have BDSM play with no sex.  When I first made the journey into real life BDSM I was only interested in the play part and not the sex, and confused a play partner or two because I would not fuck them after playing.

I get a great deal of pleasure from BDSM play, as well as sex.  The pleasures I feel are different between BDSM and sex, but both are satisfying.  The pleasure I get from BDSM is 'deeper', more 'within' than with sex.  It is hard for me to put into words how it feels, but I think many may feel the same way.

Just my 2 cents worth.... 1.6 cents after taxes....

I completely agree with this. I have scened several times without any sex ever happening. Mostly when I was just exploring my submission and was still a virgin. But it was still deeply satisfying. Nowadays, I pretty much expect the combination with Sir. Perhaps I am getting spoiled. [:)] Either way though, if I had to choose, I'd also take the erotic pain every time hands down.

Plus, for me at least, being made to cry is the BDSM version of an orgasm. If I start sobbing, I don't need sex or an orgasm to glow with soul wrenching fulfillment and complete satisfaction. Bring on the pain!
