When I lived in Texas, we used to go on a regular basis; but since coming back north...I don't go anymore. I find that the 'cliques' and 'one-upness' is just too much and tries my patience endlessly.

i prefer to be at home with him, but there are times when we've said what the heck and gone out.  now that the children are older, maybe that will happen more often!

i LOVE our local group, i joined a little over a year and a half ago, and i think it was the best thing i could have possibly done for my kinky lil self! i try to attend all of the munches and social events. my Master usually comes too, as does his other sub. i'm not a big fan of big public play parties, i don't like my partner and i having no real say over who's watching our scene, and since it's a very personal experience for me, i don't want people milling around willy nilly. So i really prefer private playtime. i also cherish our time alone just to be together, whether or not we're playing.

Hubby and I attended a few Munches, but have never played in public. We're coming up on our 10 year Anniversary, and we have talked about him renting out a room at one of the local clubs for a private session. I am sooooooo excited/scared about it. I said if he's going to do it, I don't want to know when, I just want to be taken there so it's too late to turn back!

I'm going with yes to all of the above.  There are certain things that I do privately that I won't do in the public view, so that makes those things specific to being at home.  (Not always at home, but you know what I mean.)  The group here in town is a bit small, but I go to the munches and socials that I can with My schedule.  The three of U/us can't always get to the same nights, so who goes just depends on who's available.  The private play parties are small, but always enjoyable.  The closest public dungeon is a couple of hours away, so that's a special treat.  I absolutely love getting out of town to attend and event there or one of the major events in Atlanta.  I'm the type to go a bit stir crazy if I stay home too much.

I am a very boring homebody.

I have a home, that visitors liken to a resort. I spend all week working with demanding people and commuting back and forth to work ( 1 hour each way in good weather ).

That being said, when I get home on Friday after work, the last thing in the world I want to do is get all dressed up and head off to some city, miles and miles away from my happy little farm, to slap a faux happy social smile on my face and make nice with a bunch of people I don't know. Most of which, I will have very few similar interests other than the desire for a power exchange relationship of sorts and a love of leather. I have an intense dislike, and very little patience for, posturing and drama. Both are something I imagine are in no short supply in the BDSM social scene. I don't think I would fit very well in a organized BDSM group. Just a hunch I have......

Sometimes we go to munches. Sometimes we go to clubs. Sometimes we go to play parties. Sometimes we send the UMs to the babysitters and have a quiet night at home alone. Sometimes we take the UMs to chucky cheeses. Sometimes we stay in with the UMs and rent movies and order pizza.

I like them all. Quite a bit.

Precisely my view -- although it's theorhetical at the moment since I'm not currently in a r/t  D/s relationship. I would expect my submissive and I to live our D/s life primarily in private, but I would expect she and I to go out socially with like-minded people in munches, clubs or educational activities. Like you, Hibiscus, I'm not a fan of public play. Watch? Sure.
