This Google Web Accelerator, It's a proxy server. Like any proxy server, there are inevitable downsides. Granted, in many applications, pulling data from the google might be the quickest route. I don't know. If I ever have to fall back to dial-up, I use command line, character based tools... So, yeah, ditch the proxy server. And don't worry about Google monitoring anything. AT&T owns the backbone, and THEY are copying EVERYTHING to the government, regardless of ISP. ( traffic not hitting the Internet exempted. If it's local to your own network, it's likely not grabbed by the splitters on the core links. ( unless your network is also breaking the law, and complicit in unlawful searches and seizures of your documents and telecommunications... ) So, if you CARE about privacy, you have to get these Loyal Bushies and AT&T Executives into prison cells, so that other companies won't work with corrupt, banana republic-wannabe governments in the future.
