Well, one can't remain a pullet forever, lol. For me, looking older isn't a big deal, but feeling old (aching joints, declining digestion, less energy) is another thing altogether. The cliched phrase " grow old gracefully" is now tossed around by cosmetics companies to sell their wrinkle cream, so what does it mean now?

I have been working out for about three years, and heavily so for the last few months... my body has changed a lot, and I feel wonderful! I have been throwing the idea of a couple of non-surgical procedures around because I want my face to match my body is all... and I have had this one line in my face since I was a kid, and it only promises to get deeper and deeper. I feel pretty good about myself to be honest, and I do not mind the crow's feet.. I was going to leave all the other little lines alone... they kinda look fitting on my face, because luckily I have had a lot to smile about.. unfortunately I have had a lot to think about too, hence that "thinker's brow" thing going on

I'm just beginning my research into Botox, it has been suggested to me as a potentially beneficial therapy for my TMJ.

Yeah, it's very obvious from some of your other posts that you take incredible joy in the health of your body. =) That kind of pleasure is actually pretty rare!

It's pretty easy to view plastic surgery as superficial vanity, but it really depends on the motivations or the personality of the individual. After all, out-of-control vanity stems from a deep-seated self-hatred in the first place. Somebody who values their physical health, and truely enjoys feeling good isn't one with low self-esteem, not by a long shot. Whatever you decide, you'll still be yourself, because you're happy with yourself

I was a smoker for 23 years and when I finally quit I thought the harm I had done might be irreparable. I know the difference between feeling like I have one foot on a banana peel and one foot in the grave and feeling vitality. I am thankful that I still have my health

I have an appointment with my family doctor in two weeks to discuss some stop smoking aids. After wasting precious time being stubborn and trying to quit "cold turkey", it's time to be honest with myself and realize I just can't do it on my own. Some people can and have.. I just can't.

That's the first, most important hurdle. There's no sense in trying even a reasonable workout regime if your lungs can't support you the way they should, lol. I've smoked for 15 years, so it'll be a challenge.

juliaoceania, I have a ton of friends who did Botox, Restylane, eye jobs, you name it (NYC, say no more?). The worst thing for skin is smoking, so thank god you quit.

Thankfully, I have perfect skin, and I intend on keeping it that way. I use SPF 30 every day, even to get the mail.

Genes play a big part in women's wrinkles, no one believes it, but they do. You can buy $1000 cream and it won't do crap. Or, you could be like my mom who uses Vaseline Intensive Care only and she has hardly any wrinkles and she is in her 70's.

The peels are risky for burning; the Botox is painful I hear and you need to keep it up every 3-4 months for results. There are lasers, but that is also expensive and who knows what they do.

I am not being facetious here, but if you only have that one line between your brow and it really bothers you, get bangs. It is the greatest thing a woman can do who has that going on. A major NY hairdresser said it was a best-kept secret. [;)]
