M. Duncan was doing this stuff in post war (that'd be WWII) paris in the forties. At the time I had the privlige of knowing him, circa '97, he was in his eighties, and confined to a wheelchair.

True Story......



I was at a demonstration with a power exchange group a few years ago.  We had rented a large room at a local motel for the meeting.  A lady was celebrating her 85th birthday a couple of meeting halls further past our room.

I was playing door gaurd and making sure the birthday party folks didn't stumble into the wrong room.   This extremely well dressed lady who looked to be in her late 70's came to our door. 

Mutt - "Good afternoon, I believe the birthday party is over there."

Lady - "Young man!  Is this the BDSM demonstration?"

Mutt - "uh, uh, uh......Yes it is."

Lady - "Then I will be going in here."


She was such a hoot and really got a kick out of making other kinksters stutter.  At the end of the demonstration, we were lining up to get a sound whipping from Granny and she loved every minute of it.

To me the lifestyle is much more than physical so I don't ever expect to call it quits though there may be things I can't physically do. I've known people in the lifestyle who were in it until they died and not prematurely either. Look at Mr. Frank Puckett among many others who I believe was very close to age 90 when he passed on.

My houseboy/friend/play partner is in his 70's and still going so strong that we refer to him as "The Energizer Bunny of Kink".  :)

Of course there are potential health and safety issues as you age.  My friend is very physically active, works out at the Y and is a champion marathon rower, so he's quite a safe prospect to go at with cane or flogger.  :)

Okay...let's make a deal.  We'll hang up the floggers if you agree that you are entirely too young to reap any benefits from D/s at this time of your life.  One must be at least 40 before being mature enough to understand and have sufficient talents to engage in that sort of relationship.  So.....give it up until you are mentally and physically prepared. 

Sheeesh.....don't  you have anything more to be concerned about than the ages of others who do this?  If it bothers you so much then make sure you don't attend events that may have your elders there.  What i do and the age i am when i do it is none of anyone else's business. 


My Dom is 20+ years older than i am and i actually have some friends who are in their 50+ that are doms and subs alike. And it doesn't always have to do with age mind you

i want to thank all of you on your umm responses. Most think it was a stupid post and some agreed with me. It seems to be a very debatable issue at hand and some people take their own views/opinions with them. i know that with my Dom, he has a very strong hand when it is needed and i doubt he will ever lose that strength.

Sir is a lot older than me and shows no signs of slowing. In fact He has more energy than me if i'm honest. I have absolutely no intentions of stopping at any point health permitting.

I disagree with this statement entirely.  When and if i or someone you consider elderly ever stops doing D/s is NOT debatable...especially by a 23 year old.  It's MY business, not an issue.

I did not think you were being insulting really, just not thinking the question through, because not everyone is into S&M, and really that would be the only part of the lifestyle that could be impacted...There is still bondage, discipline, mind fucks, dominance and submission, humiliation, age play, and a host of other kink activities that a person could do no matter what their health condition is or their age is.

There are also ways to cause physical pain without even a mark.

So I suppose the reason for my response is that this kind of play is all about the dynamic between me and my partner no matter what, not about the ability to do sexual gymnastics. So if the desire for companionship and sex is still there, why wouldn't the desire to do kink be there?

The amusing thing about this, I am in better physical condition today than I was at your age. I continually improve my body, so I see no reason why I cannot be in better physical shape when I am 50 than I am in today... I just refuse to go quietly. Already I see young women half my age that I could out run,  out walk,  out hike, and dance their asses off if they attempted to keep up with me. For you perhaps 50 will be too old, for me I am just getting started

i just think being a Dom/me or a sub/slave is like being blonde or brunette... Y/you are wot Y/you are... and i know some old Dom/mes and some old subs/slaves.... and i think sometimes Y/you feel like Y/you might be to old, and other times Y/you don't...
 
i don't think Y/your eva to old to be true to Y/yourself, and the only thing wot will stop me and Master from being U/us, is O/our physical ability to do wot W/we do[:)]

Couldn't agree more! Just had another birthday, got down for about 5 minutes, then realised that in my 40's i feel so much healthier, happier, stronger, powerful, intensely ALIVE and constantly hornier than i ever have before. Granted, the latter in large part is also due to effect my Master has on me (winks), but the rest, well, all i know is it just seems to get better and better!! I don't see why I would become any less 'me' as I get older.
