proudsub -> post-surgery update (12/8/2007 9:42:18 PM)

I've had several friends here ask how i was doing with my new hip, so here's an update.  The good news first--i had a pain free orgasm--yeah!!!!!  The bad news is i have to use my walker for 3 more weeks, which is longer than normal.  My doc wants to be sure the small fracture she caused is completely healed before it is stressed.  I'm doing all my PT and then some, as well as crunches and upper body workouts.  Also i can now go out and do things but can't drive for a few more weeks. It's so nice to be pain free.[sm=banana.gif]

Good for you Proudsub. And keep up with that physical therapy, that's very important!
Don't worry recuperation takes a while but you'll make steady progress as long as you follow the doctors and phys therapists orders. And give it time and don't push it too much.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts.

I should add that Hubby has done a pretty good job of taking care of me and the house.  He still won't cook so we are eating mostly take-out. For those who warned me that He would do things His way, boy were you right.  The problem is now that i can do more He wants me to change how i do some things, like loading the dishwasher, and managing the garbage, which i've been doing just fine for 40 yrs. Oh well, He's the boss.

I'm sooooo glad you are doing well! Please though, don't push too hard. Surgery really can take a toll on a body and some bits can take time even though one can grow impatient. Healing is different for every one so I hope you listen to your body and your doctor.Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy for doing well!![sm=banana.gif][sm=banana.gif]PS, I consider a walker nothing more than a tool for recovery. So what if it takes a couple of extra weeks? That just means you will be extra healed and extra stronger.[;)]

Well after you are done needing the walker..maybe you and your Master can figure out a more imaginative use for it in the near future..[;)]..Tempting

I like the way you think tempting. We have already figured out perverted uses for that wedge pillow and for the 4 grabbers/reachers we now have.[;)]

So very glad to hear you're on the mend and sounding spirited. Best of luck in the remainder of the process!

~smiling~ Happy to hear a good report. Glad you got it done in time for the holiday season. Be well, and wishes for your continued improvement.

I am glad to hear that you are on the mend. TemptingNviceSub’s suggestion for alternate uses for a walker is great but I would like to suggest a more practical use. My grandmother found hers useful for get people out of her way. If "excuse me," didn’t work after a couple of times she jab them in the back with it. "Move your cargo there, fatso" (poke poke poke). Of course she was ninety-three and so nobody would get cross with her (they’d just get out of the way while hurriedly mumbling an apology). Lacking her advanced age you might not get the same courtesy – still it’s something to consider. In the meantime keep up the good work and get well.

Marc2b

P.S. I can’t stop laughing about TemptingNviceSub’s suggestion for alternative uses for a walker. It’s got me thinking about all the pros and cons of BDSM amongst the geriatric set.

For example,

Pro
: you no longer have to tell your sub to "assume the position," because she’s already permanently bent over from osteoporosis.

Con: The hired day nurse insists that cleaning the dildos is not part of her job description.

I’m sure there are many others but I should probably drop this before it gets out of hand and it becomes an unintentional hijack.

Once again, congratulations and here’s wishing you a speedy recovery.
