I love gift cards, giving and receiving.  There comes a time when the "Things" reach an age where you pick something out for a gift and they just stare at you.  Gift cards bypass that whole episode nicely.  I don't think they care about creativity.  I know I don't really care about creativity.  I'd rather have a gift card to a place I like to shop to having someone try to guess what I'd like from there, whereby I have to fake a smile and plan a way to return it without the benefit of a gift receipt.

~FR~

I am not much for giving gift cards. They have always carried an ''I didn't care enough'' sign on them to me. I don't mind getting them from or giving them to collegues or acquaintences whom I don't know so well.  Though those closest to me know what books I am looking for etc. In the 'olden days' it was gift certificates and the notion of cards is the same for me, cold. hunky is right as well. I have what I call my treasure box where things of merit to my heart go and a spent gift card wouldn't be one of them.

Happy Holidays
