DUNCANVILLE, Texas - The most popular address on Cedar Ridge Drive is Jim Trulock’s split-level home, which has a group sex room and attracts as many as 100 people to swinger parties featuring “Naked Twister” nights.

But the festivities could soon be over. In response to neighbors’ complaints, the city has outlawed sex clubs in residential areas. Citations have been issued, and search warrants may be next.

“It’s crazy that they want to force their morality down our throats,” said Dawn Burton, 45, a regular guest at the parties. “We’re all frustrated.”

The problem with naked twister is who are you going to get to spin the arrow?

Surprised? You shouldn't be. What do you expect from a state so mind-bendingly backward that they outlaw the ownership of more than 6 dildoes? Yet the ownership of assault rifles and machine guns is left unregulated?

And this critisisim is from someone living in Arkansas... so that's saying something!

100 people means a lot of noise, a lot of traffic late at night and a lot of people coming home to find they have no place to park. And if they're charging entrance, then it's a business and in violation of residential only zoning. Why not rent a defunct business, install soundproofing, and already have a parking lot?

Damn cute thread, Level.
For some reason now I keep hear the song "Girls just wanna have fun".

Because it would, in fact, be a business in this case, and require health inspections and a sales tax ID.  This becomes a red flag to the local government that an illegal BYOB bar is being run with public sex, and would be rather immediately shut down.

The real issue is that no local government is going to welcome a sex club with open arms.  There are precious few laws that would actually apply then, because these sorts of businesses aren't welcome in most communities.  Thus, people who actually want to go to such clubs are only left with the option of doing so in private homes.

There's no law that says I can't throw a party at my house, so long as I don't violate any fire codes.  The problem with this particular situation, is that they're packing too many people in a residential home.  Purchasing a ranch in a more rural area would probably be the way to go here; to ensure adequate parking and that local neighbors won't be bothered by the goings on..

I am about the stingiest neighbor there is. I want peace and quiet.
