mnottertail -> RE: Kiwi! (12/6/2007 5:30:36 AM)

why did it nail down the tree?

breatheasone -> RE: Kiwi! (12/6/2007 5:45:22 AM)

It made me and my daughter(shes 26) cry to....

GoddessMine -> RE: Kiwi! (12/6/2007 5:54:44 AM)

I think he nailed down the trees so that they'd stay up in that position on a cliffside - thus, when the kiwi would fall down, it'd feel like he was actually flying like a bird with wings above and across the trees.

Love,
GM

mnottertail -> RE: Kiwi! (12/6/2007 6:44:12 AM)

AHA!!!!! so in the interests of time, we only saw him nailing down the LAST tree........

Well, we all know we're going to "auger down" in the end. The question becomes, are we each working, in our own lives, to build to that one perfect moment of happiness before we bite it?

I saw a bird that can’t fly, kill itself in order to try to fit into a group it doesn’t fit the label for.

I didn't cry. However, seeing nails and a hammer comming out of ones arse made me think "Ouch!" The visual made me feel some pain.

I saw a bird working to overcome its limitations and towards something which made it very happy. I saw the bird be happy as it flew and achieved success. Therefore I saw the bird fulfill its dreams and therefore its life. It was sad to know the bird died as a result of course, but such is the nature of life. It would have been equally sad for me to know that the bird held back and didn't work towards what made it happy just to 'fit in' with the group and label that others would have pigeonholed it into.

Therefore it made me both happy and sad.

I saw the bird change its surroundings, to create the illusion it was flying. It appears it would have had to work very hard for a very long time, perhaps most of its life; therefore, missing out on many other activities it might have enjoyed. Also the fact that it is labeled a bird, and being able to fly is one of the main characteristics of a bird, implies to me; it was so determined to create the impression it was a bird, it was willing to die for it……

Okay, I think I have spread enough happiness for one morning.

Thanks for the link to the alternate ending. I spent some time watching all of the other YouTube user submissions with alternate endings, realities, and the like. Seems this little wingless bird has quite a fan base, with a large number of different interpretations of the story line. :-)

ghitaPVH -> RE: Kiwi! (12/7/2007 1:32:40 PM)

fuck me and my dialup...I wanna know what everyones making all the big fuss about...are we seriously all crying about a user made video of a bird committing suicide?

sappatoti -> RE: Kiwi! (12/7/2007 1:42:17 PM)

Ghita, my deprived friend...

Here's the link to the video's creator's page:

http://www.donysanimation.com/Kiwi.htm

The video will auto-play, but right-clicking on the video itself should bring up your normal dialog where you can save it as a file. It's a 38.6 MB download, just so you have an idea of its size.

Arpig -> RE: Kiwi! (12/7/2007 3:54:24 PM)

Sorry, but mostly I found it a rather stupid litle video...no tears here except for those of boredom

Master96 -> RE: Kiwi! (12/7/2007 5:21:29 PM)

You are welcome guys [:D]

Master96 -> RE: Kiwi! (12/9/2007 4:01:22 AM)

JackM1 -> RE: Kiwi! (12/9/2007 8:13:44 AM)
