Robert Sadlon is charged with drunken driving, escape and related charges  He fled a traffic stop, went home, shaved his mustasche and changed clothes,  then called in a report that his truck was stolen.

Actually not bad planning for a drunk.

P.s. I am in my forties and have NEVER gotten behind a wheel of a car after I consumed any amount of alcohol ,

i have to admit i have driven drunk.  One night when coming home from the weekly Friday nite law firm get-together, my car jumped the curb and miraculously came back down on the pavement.  i realised how lucky i was and never did it again.

I don't think he was wasted, just buzzing.  Probably had only two or three drinks before driving

Thats pretty fucked up!

I have driven drunk before too and have even been stopped by the cops and told to go home or they would take me to jail.

Been really lucky with police encounters like that. Hah

No more of that kind of bullshit ever again.

I've driven drunk before but it was back in the 70's, 80's in Massachusetts-"Kennedy country."
Everyone was driving drunk in Mass in those days, Judges, Cops, Lawyers you name it.
One time I had to go to court on another matter and a lawyer was in the court arraigned for vehicular manslaughter the previous night in the next city for killing two elderly pedestrians.
Not a good thing to do.

First of all who the hell is Robert Sadlon ?

And don't even get me started on drunk driving. I bought my way out of shit that most ten people couldn't. Here is the crux of the matter.

If you can drive, there is a skill you must posses. That skill is needed when you drink, when you are walking up to your car, if you have doubts, go back in, sleep over, do whatever. That skill is needed to keep a driver's license. If you drink and don't have that skill you will no longer have a driver's license soon. Any given weekend. You thought you were having a good time. It's all over now.

Most people can't fucking drive anyway, so it is extremely stupid to try it drunk. I know people who can drink a bottle of whiskey and drive home as if they were completely sober. But then if you knew this one guy's olady you would know why. Holy shit, he almost wanted to go to jail.

I don't drive right now, and I might not again. When I see the stupid shit people do, I just don't want to. I am a very good driver, experienced, accurate and diligent in being defensive. But I simply do not want the stress, and I am getting to the point where I am simply willing to pay someone else to do it.

I see people do such stupid things on the road, and I do not mean on a Saturday night, that I actually would do things to never have to drive again. They will risk ten lives to save five seconds of their oh so precious time.

I know at leaast five people who have lost their licenses for various reasons. If we got together, got a plan, just get someone a car. Pay for all parts, repairs, gas, oil, all that. But they give rides. Like a private taxi.

There would be pay too, and of course the free use of a car, nothing out of pocket. I am pretty serious about not wanting to drive. Even though I am the guy they make back the trailer in when they move, or the truck. Even though I am the guy who really knows how to drive, I just do not want to do it out on the streets.

I would flee too, given the kind of people who are out there. Well maybe. There are times though.

And it is never their fault. Even though they changed lanes 400 times in a ΒΌ mile, and hit 95MPH in rush hour traffic, the twenty car pileup is not their fault. That is because it is never their fault. Ever. Can't be, don't you see, they are perfect ?

I used to love driving, now I hate it. It is only a means to get from point A to point B now. I think back about all the joyriding we did as kids. Well things were different then.

Two things can happen when you drive drunk. You can make it home alright and get a big head on your shoulders and then you will do it again. Or something could happen, you could kill someone. And if nothing happens, you will keep doing it until something does happen. That I guarantee.

So if I may figuratively back the truck up here, who the hell is this Robert whatever ?

T
