OK so why should the Goreans have the market cornered on this one?  [;)]

If you could take a work of fiction or fantasy and base your BDSM lifestyle upon it, which would it be?

I imagine owning a real life midget (not sure what the PC term for little people is) and he could be my Hobbit.  I would declare myself the Dark Lord Sauron and torture the Hobbit in many deliciously evil ways, showing him the twue meaning of the "one ring".

Imagine if in the Matrix, the pods that humans were kept in were pleasure pods, and rather than leading a life of "mundane" mediocrity each individual was fed the information that they were used for sexual pleasure... each orgasm providing energy for the Matrix to run.

Your turn!

Michael Manning's "Spider Garden" or "Hydrophidian." No contest, really. www.theSpiderGarden.net

I don't want to live in fiction, my reality is far too good. [:D]

I'd base it in the "reality" I began working on back in 1987.  I've toiled on and off again on my own fantasy world, including the writing of several novels.  I apporeciate the fiction of others, but to be blunt, the things falling out of my imagination are what will most likely to be sympatica with me. Star Trek Voyager,   working directly under the command of Captain Janeway and her enforcer (7 of 9).

There used to be a web site that had faked fetish photo's using the Star Trek characters from all of the different shows.   [:-]

Hmmmm......I'd say Batman and Robin as it had some themes of leather and BDSM such as bondage and choking, though the latter of the is not my cup of tea in real time.

Well there is a lot appealing in the Honor series, or the Anita Blake series before it started sucking, or the Kushiel series, not to mention Anne of Green Gables and Nancy Drew.

If you gave up on the Anita Blake series, IMO it's worth picking up the most recent one... i think Hamilton really listened to reader feedback and brought back some of the character that gave the series strength.

If i couldn't be an adept of Valerian House from the Kushiel novels, i think my second choice would be a damane from the Wheel of Time series. [:)]

Edit to add: there may be something to this Spider Garden dealio... it may bear further investigation [:)]

Just about any of the novels by Gord of House of Gord.

Greetings
well now...many come to mind. Most of Saberhagen's works, the Hammer's Slammers books, C J Cherryh (spelling) as an author...the Amber series, hmmm. The Iliad. Pern. Something about Dragon Riders burning threads heh heh.

well, I would like to say something out of a Blue Moon, Captive Series book, but that would just be too awful....[:)]

None, really. There are certainly myriad characters from novels I would adore spending the night with, but none whose realities match my kinks so perfectly that I would want to become immersed in it.

Quite honestly; I would not take any work of fiction or fantasy and base my life upon it; to do so would be to remain living in a fantasy world.

However, I have taken the philosophies that are apparant in the Gor series and applied them to my own life; just as I have taken philosophies from the Druids, the Irish, the Italians, Native Americans...and applied all of them also.

None of it makes for a fantasy or for fiction...my life is very real and I live it the only way I know how to live it.
