Status: offline 		Curious minds (mine ) would like to ask a few questions about cutting and stabbing safety. I know this may end up being a bit of a hot bed of discussion but i really would appreciate it if we can keep it civil
What are the safest places to cut quite deep?
What are the safest places to stab?
Of the safest places to cut how deep can you go?
Of the safest places to stab how deep can you go?
I know after care of wounds is essential and that scarring will be a possibililty but just curious to know of any experiences etc anyone has had of these.

Status: offline 		misst, I would suggest getting a good anatomy book that maps out all of the veins, arteries, ligaments and tendons and nerve pathways. I'm fairly sure that the experience that you are after is probably not a severed artery or a permanent disability, so I guess that I would look at a "map" if you will.

Status: offline 		I am not sure there is such a thing as "safe" stabbing.  However, it is possible to get a knife that sets to a particular depth, which might give a stabbing motion, while not a deep cut.  Just a thought.  Since you aren't planning on doing this, I will hazzard a guess that the safest place to do deeper cutting would be the butt cheeks, at least on someone well padded.  Seriously, a textbook or possibly full course on anatomy would be recommended.  Generally with knife play you don't waant to do anything particularly deep.  Even surface cutting can scar and, in the case of my sisterslave, send you into shock.

Status: offline 		never had any experience with stabbing, but cutting can be done fairly safely as long as you do not go beyond the dermal layers or above the shoulders and avoid major veins and arteries....i would also avoid certain things that are near the surface (specfically milk ducts on women and just the whole genital area, unless you know expertly what you are doing)

as to what the dermal layers are...well, that can be as small as, i believe 0.3mm on your scalp to 3mm on the palm of your hand, but don't quote me on that...so like erin said, get an anatomy book...

i had an artistic cutting done on my back that went over my spine...the lady that did it had no formal training, but practiced for a year before she did her first cutting on a person, and studied anatomy books and educated herself...

Status: offline 		I would not cut deeper than the dermis.  Below the dermis is the subcutis, a layer of fatty tissue which also houses larger blood vessels.

Going deeper than the dermis greatly increases the risk of an uncontrolled bleed, and also dramatically increases the risk of infection.  Also raises the probability of significant keloid scarring, which can become disfiguring.

Basically, keep the cuts shallow and the bleeding small.

Your body is a complex network of nerve channels, blood vessels, connective tissue, lymph channels, etc.

It would depend how you define safe.  Cut a nerve and it may never grow back, and a patch of skin (say the tip of a finger) may end up being dead to feeling for the rest of your life.  Cut the blood vessels in the neck, groin, shoulder and the person may bleed out in less than a minute.  Cut a tendon or ligament and one may end up in surgery and rehab and take years to heal.

I know a lot of unsafe places to use a knife against somebody, but I dont think this translates into knowing all the safe places to use a knife.

There is no really "safe" place to stab.  The wound to the person introduces foreign objects and objects (to the microbiological level) past the semipermeable membrane of skin.  The real question is mitigation of risks.  As a child and teenager, I spent most of my life cutting fishhooks out of my body, stabbing and cutting myself learning wood carving, stepping on rusty nails, etc.  Im still alive.  I would not recommend doing any of these.  I would suggest that the person doing the stabbing and cutting do extensive research into the anatomy of the human body, proper surgical techniques, and use sterilized (as in autoclaved) equipment.

Additionally, I would work out your "shore story" before you start, so when one of you ends up going to the emergency room with a stab wound, the person does not go up on criminal charges.

Status: offline 		First I'll say straight out the idea of cutting is way past my scope of " Hell ya lets try it" lol  But I have freinds that are into it and hey go hard. But as for stabbing... to be honest, I seriously do not see this as something safe to do at all.  Way to easy to screw up and cause serious or fatal mistakes

Status: offline 		I dont know anything about stabbing, I have never even heard of anyone consenting to being stabbed, LOL.  One word of advice, whenever I cut to drink blood, I always have steri strips on hand, in case you need to patch it up a bit.

 "stabbing" makes me think of impulsive, random, out of control, anger/rage/fear based reaction/action.  eractic not erotic.

for me, the ultimate feeling is not about the cutting of my skin, but more about seeing his intensity and control.......feeling all his energy & focus in that moment, being transferred onto and into me.

Status: offline 		Lol doing something and doing it again are two different things.
Funnily enough it was that thread that got me thinking on this one.
When i got stabbed, a long time ago i had no thought for safety or the damage that could be done.
I have NO intentions of doing this but for those who might be doing or considering doing it, it seems reasonable to put good advice out there. I personally haven't seen a thread on this whilst here.

Status: offline 		i would really advise against both cutting and stabbing. i used to cut myself when i was a teenager and have scars that will be with me for the rest of my life. Also, it is very easy to cut just a little too deep, hit an artery and have a dead body on Y/your hands. Even if Y/you consult anatomy books, every body is different and due to individual differences a spot Y/you may think is safe might not be. It would probably be much safer to just scratch the skin with a sterilized needle. It will still hurt, but the chance of serious damage is much less.
