eilselinchico -> Flying with Toys (11/20/2007 2:27:00 AM)

I am flying today from one city to another and requested to bring our toys by my Dom with me.

The request is to bring our favorites, which is as follows:

flogger,
paddles,
cuffs,
riding crop,
bullet and
(my fav) his vibrating cock ring.
I will be checking my bag.

My question is as follows:

do I need individually bag these in zip-lock bags,
will I have a problem with the cuffs,
what about the batteries should I take them out
etc.
As one who is new to the scene, I have obvious questions that may seem silly, but, my friend, who has been in the scene for many years, pointed these things out and suggested I post the question.

I package everything in seperate clear bags for sanitary reasons. I label them "Sex Toys Please Do Not Handle".I also lay a printed inventory of everything on the top layer of my suitcase incase someone desires my favorite flogger lol. Since you are checking your luggage, the cuffs will be find. Just make sure you have a TSA approved lock, that makes it much easier and faster for them to process. Personally I take the batteries out, just in case something gets nudged and a buzzzzzzzing emits from my luggage. Not a good thing to have buzzy sounding luggage in this day and age. Otherwise I wouldn't worry overmuch. Have fun!!

Next time, I suggest you ship your toys seperately via FedEx, UPS, etc.  With a little advance planning, you can ship the toys using the Second Day Air option at a fairly reasonable cost, no embarrassment, guaranteed delivery, and insured in case of loss.

I have traveled with toys on more than one occasion, aslo have worked at an airport in the post NYC era, friends of mine who work(ed) for TSA told me that as long as you are honest with the contents of the baggage your checking, there will be no issues. These people have seen it all and won't be offended or weirded out seeing a dildo or flogger, even at the small town level. I agree with the others who have said to have a complete inventory of what your traveling with. I usually place one on the top of the case in one of those clear plastic sheets that you use for notebooks and keep one in my carry on bag so you can double check things in case the other paper gets removed. Like I said, be sure to communicate with TSA in a calm yet honest way, they are just doing their job and the process with your help is alot easier.

Blessings,

Mike

When i went to the Dominican we had no trouble at all. Did pretty much exactly what camille said. and yes take the batteries out. Nothing like the plane getting held up cause a suitcase is vibrating or humming. [:D]

I don't know the answer, I've never done it.  However, I do know several people that work for TSA and airport administration that are in the lifestyle if that helps with any anxiety at all.

I carried floggers and a dildo and a vibrator on a plane, nobody cared.

Thanks for all the help and info - I had no problems - don't even think the bag was opened nothing was moved.
Camille - you're thoughts on the inventory is perfect, plus, the taking out of the batteries.
