posts about "wanna be's,and fakes"  and  they get named that way for one reason or another, it doesnt really matter. My question is who represents themselves honestly in their profiles and do you hold other people to the same standard as you hold for your own profile?
I see many profiles with not enough info or just unrealistic idea's or I should say unrealistic ideas for me. if I like the profile I will comment on it or say there isnt enough there but not always depends on my mood

lol... I guess I'll step up and say that I represent myself honestly in my profile. However, I'm not looking and my profile is genuinely just about me with no constructs on how someone else should or would not be able to fit into a relationship with me beyond what I have.. I explain a tiny bit of what I am and then state I'm grateful to have found someone who likes me the way I am. Hence, no falsification necessary... no hunting done.

My profile is straight and to the point ; but then, I am not here looking for someone.

I have enhanced the stature of my wiener through the use of comely prose, but other than that, it is pretty much me.

I am probably too honest.  And there are way, way too many words in my profile.  DesertRat says I should write it on my chest with a Sharpie, what do you think, Ron?

For me a profile is only an idea of what a person may or may not be like. They are a guideline and very rarely have i found someone to be as i imagined from their profile. You can read the words but read what you want into them and mislead yourself sometimes.
I'd like to think my profile is a pretty good idea of who i am and what i like but it's only a tiny part of me. Theres so much more to all of us than we could ever write here.

Well, you do seem to have a viable set of MacGuffies, and if you can write your profile there, unabridged, I think it may give you an edge here in the community.......although doing the missionary might be reminiscent of debasing the constitution------------which on second thought, might be kinda fun.

I've tried to be as honest in my profile as I can. I'm looking for a long term relationship, although not marriage. So, I think the profile needs to reflect both what I have to offer (the advantages of being with me) what my limitations are, and what drawbacks there might be in getting involved with me. The honest stance has probably cut down on the number of responses I get, but at least the ones who do contact me, know ahead of time what they are getting into. Overall, I think it increases the chances of eventual success.

Mine is enticing, humorous and honest. Also detailed. Nothing annoys me more than someone who contacts me but they have no pics and no profile. A couple of stats and thats it. And they want to chat? Why would I want to? And they give me their yahoo chat? Get real. I dont know you and you've given me nothing to change that.

I only hold people to the standard I have for myself.

Master and I are both very honest and exact as to whom we are and what we seek in our profiles. You can get a good idea of who we are based on both of them.

You're hardly likely to have many replies from people saying that they haven't represented themselves honestly.

I've got nothing on my profile apart from ticking the *friends* box, and a picture of me.  I don't think I could write a profile that would represent me, so I don't even bother.

As far as I'm concerned the tick in the *friends* box is about as close as I can get without saying anything at all that could be seen as misleading, from experience.
