In your head you can hear, a voice so sweet and clear
And the music that plays in your head
As it flows up from the ground
Taking all who hear that sound
Close your eyes, its about to begin

I'm hoping this is 7 of 7 otherwise I missed one of the polls. Some of them I think of more as 80;s bands. Heart, Van Halen, ACDC.

Awesome job Level. our resident jukebox!

I took about three seconds to choose Queen - that's how long it took to read the list. [8D]

Never even read the other posts, looks like Queen's ahead though.  And well they should be; they had a sound, whimsical flair and devotion to entertainment you just don't see often.  Ever.

Damn, I knew I should have paid more attention in math class... LOL

There are only seven. [:)]

I do understand how some bands represent different eras for different people... I tried to match the bands with the time frame that they made not only a major impact on music, but on me. AC/DC in the 80s, to me, is Brian Johnson, and not up to the music they made with Bon Scott. Van Halen debut in 1978 will forever be burned into my mind, any time I think of them, despite making lots of great music in the 80s.

As always, thanks to all for their comments, and votes.

I would think there's a chance for new music from them, they seem to be on good terms.

Or perhaps it's just the eras I attribute them to because of the personal memories I associate with certain songs. I went with Fleetwood Mac personally because I didn't learn to appreciate Queen until much later in life. So I try to associate the time frame given with the particular bands I listened to at the time.

I was actually a little suprised not to see Simon and Garfunkle on any of the lists. Being that I was born in the mid 60's my musical influence at the time was based on what I heard around the house more often than anything else. Or maybe because I was told I resembled Stevie Nicks on several occasions when I was younger. LOL.

Level -> RE: Rock and Roll 1960s/70s Round 8 of 8 (11/16/2007 3:14:49 PM)

You're much prettier than Stevie.

I like S & G quite a bit, but I don't see them as "rock" music. I have some more music poll threads brewing, and they'll certainly show up in one of them.

TheHeretic -> RE: Rock and Roll 1960s/70s Round 8 of 8 (11/16/2007 8:02:00 PM)

        This is a very cool thing you've done here, Level.  Can't wait to see you come up with for the 80's.

(Any chance of dividing Metallica into pre and post the black album?  I just can't bring myself to endorse anything since Justice.)

Level -> RE: Rock and Roll 1960s/70s Round 8 of 8 (11/17/2007 3:39:53 AM)

Thank you, Rich, I appreciate that, very much. I haven't picked out any tunes yet (but will have them posted by tonight), but I imagine it'll be an older Metallica song that goes up.

Level -> RE: Rock and Roll 1960s/70s Round 8 of 8 (11/18/2007 3:31:53 AM)

Queen leads.

Poll ends tomorrow night, Queen leads.

Level -> RE: Rock and Roll 1960s/70s Round 8 of 8 (11/23/2007 3:41:21 AM)

Queen edges Mac, wins this round.
