WASHINGTON - Democrat Barack Obama said Sunday that if elected he will push to increase the amount of income that is taxed to provide monthly Social Security benefits.

Obama and other Democratic presidential candidates previously have signaled support for this idea.

But during an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press," Obama said subjecting more of a person's income to the payroll tax is the option he would push for if elected president.

Democrats looking out for me is exactly what I don't need.

You would have thought that, after eight years of a president so wonderful as Bill W. Clintoon was, this problem would have been taken care of.

But nooooooooooooo.

Instead, Democrats see it as a perpetual excuse to raise my payroll taxes.

I say tar them, feather them, then run them out of town on a rail.

What`s worse?

Polititians who pay as they go,and raise taxes to do it.

Or politicians who spend our money anyway, by borrowing it(there for taxing the people),and then laying the debt onto our children.

Just because someone pretends to be against taxes, doesn`t mean they`re frugal or honest with our money.

The republican "trillion dollar" shell-game,is no more than spending our kid`s future money, today. It`s not frugal, honest or responsible. It`s immoral and selfish.

But of course, the sanitys of the world feel great, because they get to spend our money by the billions in Iraq(and our GIs lives),and not pay themselves. It`s a grim(and deadly) and very expensive version of "having your cake, and eating it too" and charging the cake ,to our kid`s credit card.

Hey fuck-head neo-cons!

Oil`s now almost a 100 bucks a barrel, because of your stupidity and arrogance. That is certainly "taxing" on the middle class.
Can we blame your sorry asses for the billions extra, we`ll spend on energy?

That`s real money.Right out out ofour pockets, now and everyday! Not some hypothetical ,that`s be talked about.

What`s worse? The financial bitch-slapping ,we`re getting from neo-con foreign policy,or a discussion on how to preserve Social Security.

that is the difference at the point.

Democrats are tax and spend
Republicans are spend and lay it off on future generations

*emphasis added*

You do realize that the debt that our children will bear comes from the left, as well as the right.......

And for all his shortcomings, Bush has tried to talk about fixing Social Security, only to have people from both sides run away screaming.

'You do realize a huge amount of debt that our children will bear comes from the left.......'

cite that please, because everything I have cited and found shows the opposite is true.

I edited my original post, Ron, it wasn't fair, after reading it. Both sides have shit on future generations.

You can accuse the left of many things but it isn't the Democrats who have run this nation into debt.  It was Ronald Reagan and George's idiot halfwit who put this nation into debt.  That isn't opinion, it is clearly shown by the numbers.

And too bad they didn't sucker America into putting our money into the stock market!  Imagine how good that would have been, the middle class first emptied their houses of equity which the rich vacuumed up, then they put their social security into the stock market to again be vacuumed up by the super rich....

According to that graph, it goes up, no matter who is in office (though Clinton made it dip downward some, at least).

Ron and Michael, I stand by what I said, both sides have done the future little favor.

You can stand by whatever you want, but you aren't standing next to any facts.

It is the Republicans who consistently outspend revenue, they fuck up the economy (want another shocker, look at GDP as a function of government spending, Republicans subsidize the economy with spending).

The last fiscally conservative Republican was Eisenhower some 50 years ago.

Democrats are no angels but on this matter, with the exception of Johnson's little escapade in Vietnam, they have done VASTLY better than Republicans.

Most of the debt ,is republican.

For example,Regan ran up more debt, then all previous presidents before him, going all the fucking way back the George Washington.Combined!

That`s right, more debt, then was ever taken before in US history, added together. We`re still paying off that debt!

That`s nothing more that recklessness, and on a grotesque scale.Neo-cons/republicans give credit to Regan for a great economy, but won`t give him credit, lol, for the debt.bush is trying,if he hasen`t already succeeded,in beating Regan`s dubious record.

Note: The PODUS gets the credit for the good economy, and the blame when it goes south. That`s the way it`s always been scored. The president gets to take credit for what goes right, and the blame for the shit, too.

The last fiscally conservative Republican was Eisenhower some 50 years ago.

So, we can say the ONLY fiscally conservative (or fiscally concerned) Democrat in that time was Clinton?

Democrats are no angels but on this matter, with the exception of Johnson's little escapade in Vietnam, they have done VASTLY better than Republicans.

That's my point, there are few "angels" on either side. I never meant to say the Republicans have helped matters out, they haven't.

As for "vastly better"..... there have been an awful lot of Dem-led congress's passing those bucks on to future generations, haven't there?

This isn't true in any real sense of the word.  If you don't adjust the dollar amounts for inflation, it is "true" but considering we paid something like $500 million for the Louisanna Purchase, it isn't.

Ok,we`ll start with President Ford. My point is that it`s a shit load of money.Other people`s money. And it`s republicans who are the fuck -ups.

They have a great PR machine though,b/c they have folks thinking that they`re fiscal conservatives. When in actuality, they`re giving new meaning to careless disregard and incompetence.
