So Larry King did NOT tell GWB to STFU?!

This thread disappoints...

That's what I was hoping for myself. I wonder if Laura ever tells him to "Just shut it George!" Now that would be a priceless clip to see.

and to add..........I think the last person to tell me to shut up was probably my teenage daughter about 10-12 years ago. She lived........ barely.

LOL funny that the King gets called the hot head, LOL
Chavez according to reports had been repeatedly interupting a Spanish politician that had the floor according to the rules of the forum. After several interuptions the King finally turns to Chavez during one of his interuptions and asks him why he doesn't just shut up. Seems that Chavez is the one who cannot handle civilized debate on the floor of a forum and not interupt.

If the king can't handle a heated exchange, then best to swerve it, rather than act like a child.

Go read the facts of the matter.  Chavez was repeatedly interrupting the discussion, shouting because his mike had been turned off, accusing Spain's previous Prime Minister, Jose Maria Aznar, of being a fascist and saying that `a snake is more human'.  It was Chavez who was acting like a child and, frankly `Shut up' was a rather polite response.

You can't seriously believe that the Queen runs the UK?  Or the Netherlands?  Or that the King runs Spain?  They are titular heads of state, nothing more.  They get their faces on the money and the postage stamps.  The Prime Ministers run the country.

What NG misses is that the US and France also have privileged establishments too and they have Presidents. I would have more sympathy for his views if their constitutions worked perfectly but they don't. The US constitution can suffer from gridlock and the French constitution can have the French President being almost dictatorial. The problems within the British constitution have all been made by politicians who claim to believe, like NG, in meritocracy but meritocracy embeds privilege to the succeeding generations and is not at all egalitarian and doe not produce equal opportunities. If one wants to change a constitution, then it is up to those that want change to sell ideas for better a constitution, not just a different one.
