RumpusParable -> Some quick help regarding photos! (11/8/2007 10:14:32 PM)

Hi all,

I can't seem to find it, I may just be too tire as it's after midnight here, but could anyone link me to the rules on profile photos?  I just had two pics turned down and I don't know why, just that they were said to be in violation of policy, so I need to be able to re-read the policy to avoid the problem again since I've no clue what was wrong.

Thanks for all help,
Rumpus

This is all I could find.
quote:

No commercial photos or artwork - Only pictures you took yourself

No extreme or vulgar pictures

No objects or places for your primary photo

No explicit genital nudity or hardcore bondage

Persons who appear underage will be asked to furnish proof of age

There is also a section in the TOS that says they have the right to refuse any photograph.

Yes, those are the only ones I know of.  Hm.  Hopefully others have some idea where the others are...  I'm the sort that likes to read the rules and then follow, stabbing blindly in the dark doesn't suit me if I can avoid it.

Thanks!

Anyone?

I do find a dark humor in the fact that a moderator moved this post but couldn't/didn't answer the question in it.  I'm sorry, but that's kinda funny.

What's a person to do who wants to follow rules?  I just wanna know them lol.

Moderators are not the same as photo approvers.

RCdc -> RE: Some quick help regarding photos! (11/9/2007 11:24:59 AM)

Moderators on the forum do not mod the photos.  Collarchat Vs. Collar me.  Even the profile on this side has to match the profile on the other - hence signing up to both.

Try again.  We have had images rejected, then accepted the next time less than a week later - simply because it's a different photo reviewer.

Yes, I know, but it's not reconsideration of my photos that we're speaking of.  I've zero problem with them being disapproved, I assume there was a reason and that they broke a guideline.

But the moderators don't know where the photo policy is on the site, either?

Hold it, silliness on my part. I did infer something without data.  My thought was that the moderators are part of the site, not members chosen to moderate like is common on a lot of sites I am on.  That's my slip in thought!

Thanks to any who can help, though.  This morning with a clearer head (dear god, did I oversleep this morning.  I must've been dead tired last night and not realized how bad it was...  I'm just glad I didn't have an alarm that I had to answer this morning!  I assume it's because I'm still fighting off the flu my spouse is trying to give me, haha) I'm still not finding the policy link.

Danke!

RumpusParable -> RE: Some quick help regarding photos! (11/9/2007 11:30:19 AM)

Thanks, Dark.  I'm nervous of doing so.  I don't want to be re-submitting photos that had been disapproved for violating policy and possibly be annoying some reviewer with them.

I'd just like to be able to follow whatever the full photo policy is so that I don't waste their or my time in the future with a pic that breaks a rule.

RCdc -> RE: Some quick help regarding photos! (11/9/2007 11:38:16 AM)

You are welcome.  As far as I know, there are different reviewers, so you may not get the same one twice.  It wasn't so long ago they were advertising for them, so it could just be an over zealous newbie reviewer.  Both Darcy and I knew we hadn't broken any of the photo 'rules' so we just re-submitted.  The most we have had is about 3 times, I think by the third or fourth it was allowed, so I would recommend trying and not to be nervous about it.  They can be quite big now on marks, restraints and partial faces - so if there are any of those, you might find it disallowed.
Wish you the best!

Thanks again, Dark.  What do you mean about them being quite big on partial faces now?  That may be the problem, the pic in question was one where my face showed but my friend's face wasn't (their back was to the camera).

RCdc -> RE: Some quick help regarding photos! (11/9/2007 11:52:36 AM)

When I was single and had a submissive profile, I had a photograph of my shoulder wearing black wings.  Although it was initally accepted, due to law changes, they pulled it months later, because it didn't show my face and therefore they couldn't tell if it was me, someone else or even if I was of age - and that's a biggy.  If age isn't determined in the pic of your friend, that could be a tricky one.  But I am not a reviewer, so these are all guesses.  But as a photographer, with laws as they stand, that would be my best guess.

The really annoying one is where you upload a perfectly good photo only to have it rejected because it was blurred. The photo I uploaded was not blurred, I resubmitted it and it was allowed with no blur-weird!
