ORIGINAL: dcnovice Did things improve after Clinton left office? Nope. And I was fairly pissed when our current President apologized for their fighter crashing into our P-3. Of course, given the rest of his time in office, I doubt I'll even mention that in my post-term critique... I really didn't give much thought to Bush till this point ( I didn't care much for Clinton, I thought at the time he gave to much away to China and he was too conservative and anti-gun for me). The one thing you got to like about Republican's is they tend to have more robust foreign policy (not better but more aggressive) and I thought he would take that as a chance to punch China on the nose (as Clinton had done when he bombed their embassy to point out the fact it wasn't nice to give people shooting at us your satalite intell) but he wussed out. Raygun would have called up the Chinese premeir and said "Step away from the vehicle, the cruise missles are on their way, the crew was supposed to blow up the plane and forgot so dont' tell anyone but we are covering their asses so they dont' get fired" Chinese would have screamed holy hell but there wasn't jack shit they could have done. I mean what, stop selling us cheap crap? They would have had to suck it up and would be a little more caution next time. Also, if I was a Republican, when China shot down that satellite a while back, I would have announced we were retooling some of our missle silos with rockets capable of putting satelites into orbit plus creating Tridents capable of doing the same thing. Make it clear, that that is a game for the big boys and China isn't and won't be allowed to play. I mean if you are going to walk around playing the big bad stud, DO it.
