Best wishes to you!   I am sure all will go well, and you probably won't even see some of these good wishes until you get home after the surgery.  I am sure you are already snoozing away on the eve of the long awaited and big event!
Take your time in recovery and follow all the rules.  I know you are good at that!  *W*.
Next year, please come and do My Christmas shopping and wrapping.  Good grief...I haven 't even given it a thought!  And it sounds like you are planning to accomplish more during your recovery than I get done in 2 months!  *Smile*

Best of luck!!

From several I have spoken to who have underwent hip surgery the common theme I have heard is that the post surgery pain is less than what they were having prior to the surgery I hope that is true for you

I hear that a lot too, it better be true.[:)]

Woof!! go get em proudsub..who should now change her name after tomorrow, to ,bionicsub!!.....

I'm sure if i use my imagination i can fanticize during the PT, make it into something fun. I do that during mammograms and pelvic exams.[;)]

Not yet, it's still early here, but have to be at the hospital at 6am.  Post 22 is the last one i will read until i get home.

Thanks again to all who replied. This is such a great caring community.

You'll be the new bionic woman!  Go you!

proudsub -> RE: surgery tomorrow (11/13/2007 8:36:06 AM)

Update:  I came home yesterday, doing pretty well.  My doc caused a small crack in my femur when she was reaming it out so my recovery will be a little slower.  She said the prosthesis is in really tightly, so that's a good thing. I can't put much weight on that leg for 3 weeks.  Hubby has been wonderful, He's out getting me my mocha right now.  I think He has missed the baristas.[:)]   I am trying to be patient and understand He won't do everything my way. I am able to do more for myself than i expected.

I have a wedge shaped pillow I have to have strapped  between my legs when i sleep. When we are back to playing that could be put to good use.[;)]

So have you had the surgery by now, proudsub? If so, how'd it go.

Been keeping you in my prayers.

TemptingNviceSub -> RE: surgery tomorrow (11/13/2007 8:33:49 PM)

Hi proud!..glad to see you back!!..does your hip feel better than it did before surgery?..if it doesnt..keep in mind that this pain is pain to recovery not pain from damage and injury..be good girl!! Tempting

nyrisa -> RE: surgery tomorrow (11/13/2007 8:34:24 PM)

Best wishes on your recovery! Don't forget to drink lots of extra water over the next few weeks. Your body really needs it. Keep a cooler beside your bed or chair, so you can always have a drink (of water!) in your hand.

There's almost no pain now, just some tenderness around the incision.  Thanks Tempting.

Good advice, the more I drink the more often I am forced to get up and walk too.[:)]

Welcome back proudsub..... I had my knee partially replaced last November, i know its not quite the same operation but take a little advice from me. Dont try and do too much too soon ( I did and paid the price ) and its very important to do the light exercises they gave you. We both need to be fit to dig over the vegtable plots next spring [;)]
