I was just wondering if when Dommes are sitting arond the local coffee shop, nail salon, etc do they brag about their subs?

I don't  know any other dommes to go to coffee shops with but I do brag to my vanilla friends about how perfect my boyfriend is [:D] After years of listening to them all go on about their partners while I didnt have one its payback time and I love telling people how happy I am I just dont brag about him being my sub

lol.  If I were hanging out with other lifestyle friends, and if I felt like bragging, I would.  However overall, I am not a bragger.  seems to me, that braggerts tend to get bit in the ass alot. *grins*

The easy answer is probably most of us do at sometime. We are all human.
And yes I bragged to my colleagues at work it ended up with me getting the sack.
So I learned to keep my private life private.
However it has allienated me from vanilla people especially women.
When they talk about their men and how difficult they are I find it really hard to keep my mouth shut.
I don't know any other Dommes to talk to.
That's why this site is so important to me.
It's not just a place to get to know prospective partners.
It's the only place that I can be totally myself.

Yes.  Of course.  To my vanilla girlfriends I say how lucky I am that my husband is so devoted..does this or that for me...etc.

To my other dominant friends we get together every three weeks for a Dominants Round Table discussion at a local restaurant or someone's home and it is a time for us to talk about our submissives, get/give advice etc.  It is a wonderful outlet and has really helped me grow as a Dominant...it is very much like this forum but in real life and we usually have on main topic per meeting.

Any sub of mine is doomed. I have a Livejournal and I know how to use it! All my friends will know how adorable/hot you are, and there ain't nothin' you can do about it :)

It depends on who I'm with and what the conversation is on.  I certainly don't hide it when I'm pleased with him.  When he does things well or something he's said has made Me smile, I'll say he's made Me happy.  In some circles, I might mention how well he did the last time W/we played.  (Not appropriate for everyone, but you did ask about when talking with other people in the lifestyle.) 
 
So, I guess you could say that I brag about him sometimes.  I do tend to be rather proud of him.  Afterall, there are reasons he is My sub.

Yes I do, to my kinky friends I tell them he is a wonderful sub who makes me happy. To the vanilla world he is my wonderful boyfriend who does a lot for me.[:)]

My female friends in real life are all other Dommes or kink friendly now.  I came out years ago and women who didn't like it drifted away

At the weekly munch/happy hour that I regularly attend, I do gab with my fellow Dommes (and subby girls, for that matter.) Sometimes it's "did you see the new sissy maid I'm considering? Isn't she adorable?" and sometimes it's "OMG there's a handbag sale at Loehman's this weekend -- and latex is 20% off at Night Dreams!" [;)]

We talk a lot, and within those conversations, some bragging does happen.

In this area, there is no way can you brag about the lifestyle.   They would throw you under the  jail just because they do not understand it.

The way I brag is I refer to my slave as my fiance.

I notice people making remarks about lifestyle things, and I really get interested in it, but that is far as it goes.

Never reveal your lifestyle to work or your friends unless the friends are in the life themselves.
