Could it be,..... hypocrisy? It`s the hypocrisy,... stupid..

I heard all kinds of belly aching over someone who gave Hillary a little money(w/out her knowledge),who had a criminal problem.

This guy ,is a long time adviser, friend, and political  contributor to "Mr. law and order".lol.Do you think Thompson will claim that he never knew about the drug dealing, criminal record and dishonesty,of his Cessna Citation jet loaning  buddy?

For the same reason that the libs aren't upset about Sandy Burger's return to the Clinton campaign...duh....it is all politics, instead of concern for the US.

Come the revolution, all three groups against the wall:   Politicians, Lawyers, & MBAs...

Actually the article says quite clearly he did not know, about his prior convictions for drugs, there is your poor reading comprehension on display again.  The guy was in drugs in the 70s.  After being busted moved to Tennessee in the 80s, and has apperantly kept his nose clean since.   It is kind of funny to hear you calling 8 hundred thousand dollars "a little money", and accepting at face value that she had no idea he was a wanted fugative.  Currently wanted, hiding from the law, not busted for selling Pot in the 70s.  The only hypocrisy here is on your side.

Hey and I gave you the quote from Scott Ritter, owner59, how come you had no response?  You asked for the quote

Had not started looking into Fred Thompson yet, but this report is pretty telling. He belongs in the same category as Hillary, just another corrupt snake in the grass, that should not be supported by anyone. If it were so easy to look into this guys background, there is no probable way that someone in his campaign missed it. This means that Fred decided to ignore it.

The field is getting narrowed down.

You are so insensitive, Lucky.  Haven't you heard of the Americans with Disabilities Act?  Complicated facts are a narcolepsy trigger, you know.

Actually it was marijuana in the 70's and bookmaking and cocaine in the 80's. I didn't find anything clear on where his money comes from. Is it clear he didn't use drug profits to go 'legit'?

Did you read the article Domken?  It explains how he got his money in it.  He hooked up with a partner, who was married into the family that makes little Debbie Snack cakes.  It didn't mention it in the cited article but he was 19 when busted for selling pot.  He actually stole liquor from a sherrifs office, at one point.  While selling drugs and betting are illegal, I am not paticularly concerned about them.  How many drug threads have we done on here?  And consider illegal money from China to be more of a problem, than a guy who raised some serious hell, he was convicted of betting on Christmas day, in Florida till he was 23.

800,000 illegal dollars from the Chinese (and this is not even close to the first time the Clintons have been tied to illegal Chinese money, almost a pattern)or associating (renting a plane at discount)with a guy who gambled and sold drugs over 20 years ago,  Hmm which is worse....You decide in 08.....

The guy continued his illegal activities, which were book making and trafficing in cocaine. It is just as wrong to have someone like that involved in helping your campaign, as it is to have the money from China pouring into your coffers. Both are wrong, and both candidates are corrupt politicians.

All people are flawed.  And all flaws are not equal.  This does look bad on Thompson, but is hardly worthy of outrage.  And to me seems a ridicoulous thing to compare to Illegal Chinese Money.  Orion there is no evidence that he continued to deal and/or book, after his conviction in 83, over 20 years ago, when he was 23.  He moved and made a new life and completed his probation.  He has been accussed of fraud and sued several times.  Show me a picture of him and Fred doing lines and then I will be outraged.

But if anyone wants to carry the comparison further, go read about Craig Livingstone and his ties to Hillary.

You do not have to be outraged. You can have weak princples if you like. Degrees of wrong always seem to be a good way to compromise principles. Fred seems to have paid half of what he should for using the guys plane. The guy is a convicted felon, which says alot about someones character. As someone running for President, the people you associate with, add some definition to your characters, just as taking contributions from a criminal defines your character. Lowering the standards that all public officials should meet, is why we have so many corrupt public officials.

I don`t think even that would be enough, for most republicans. The old ones maybe.

So your story is,'he`s no worse then Hillary'?Ha!

If that`s the best you can do,have at it.lol

Your comparative morality ,is refreshing.

No,owner, your story is Hillary is no worse than him.  Go back and read your opening post.

And Yes I do think that taking Illegal Chinese money repeatedly, is far worse than having a supporter with a rap sheet from 20 years ago.  And the voters will get to decide in 08.  Personally I am not in favor of electing any Senator president, so don't care a heck of a lot about Tompson.

The OP was about hypocrisy.Hypocrisy is when you criticize someone else, while doing the same things, yourself.

Humans will forgive wrong doing, and mistakes. They will never condone, though, someone committing those mistakes, while criticizing others, for the same things. That`s hypocrisy, and there`s a revulsion to it, hard wired into people`s heads. It a built in moral guide, for society.

No one get`s away with it.This is why Clinton, enjoyed some of the highest approval rating, even after the attempted impeachment, and still does.

The Chinese money thing was nothing. She didn`t know, and gave the money back. The communist influence conspiracy theory,is coming from neo-cons,with to much free time.
It`s not rooted in fact.

Now,if Clinton had  received over a hundred thousand dollars,in "in kind" donations, from a drug dealer, you`d have something to talk about.

Republicans must be masochists and humiliation sluts. Why else would someone defend the current lot of republicans?

I see luckydog1's point though. If you wanted to measure which deserved more punishment, Hillary's would. I am not sure hypocricy is actually applicable, but definately a double standard. Double standards are not always bad, but in this case both actions are corrupt, and corruption in public officials should be one of the most heinous crimes that someone can commit. If we had some really old punishments for public officials that were corrupt, we would either have less corrupt officials, or less officials.

Hillary Clinton could raise $10 billion dollars and I wouldn't vote for her.
Same goes for Fred Thompson.
Two bad actors.

I think there`s a presumtion in your statement, that Hillary is corrupt,in some way.Can you name something that she`s none?

Without some examples, one can`t claim that "both sides" are the same or just as bad as the other.

This kind of generalism ,is for the lazy.

Well Owner how about the Marc Rich case.  "
Rich fled the United States in 1983 after being indicted on charges of wire fraud, racketeering and income tax evasion. He was also charged with violating trade restrictions with Iran at the time the government in Tehran was holding U.S. diplomats as hostages. "

He gave through his ex wife, a lot of money to Hillaries campaign, and got a full pardon.  Didn't even have to stand trial.  Or "four Hasidic men from New York who had been convicted of bilking the government of millions of dollars. Hillary Clinton, who had been lobbied on the issue during her Senate campaign in New York, received the vast majority of votes of the small Hasidic community. "

Now you obviously do not care about the several times the Clintons have taken Illegal Chinese Money, some people might.  We will find out next Nov.

Notice you didn't touch the Craig Livingstone issue, probably don't even remember the guy.

Wasn`t that the guy who was checking security clearences for people entering the WH,which included some republicans?

He was accused of "keeping files" on people, like some sort of "Nixonian conspiricy",and cleared of any wrongdoing.

It was fodder for Rush Limbaugh and Clinton haters eveywhere.

Why don`t you mention the "Clinton hair-cut, stops public air-port" phony story, that Clinton haters latched onto.lol

It`s just as rediculous as the Livingstone story.

If that`s the level of quality your critisism has, then Hillary`s got nothing to worry about.

Why is Livingstone still in hiding then?  Nope there was a lot more to Livingstone, than just that one incident, which you severly misstate.  Hint, he was widley known as a coke dealer.  And was a convicted Felon.
