Who owns the world. Now here I thought this would be about the ensuing class struggle.

The fact of the matter is that none of us, royalty, the rich, nobody owns anything, we simply hold it.

Time has come for us lower class asses to take hold of the world. It is we who hold the true weal. We build the factories, and work in them. We produce the goods the upper classes need. We can stop at any time, once we break our addiction to money. Money is all they have. They can't survive on the street, nor in the world. They can't even fix a flat tire.

They can't do anything except play polo and a few other useless things. They can't even polish their own silverware. If we shun their money they will perish for sure.

What I am saying is that the world conditions are ripe for a class inversion. But they will not cause it directly, we must. They cause it by taking more and more, but we sleep happily in our beds. But one day we will wake up, and we will learn that these people are garbage. What skills do any of them have ? They can go on a fox hunt, with a fox provided by their supporters, who are all bought with money. They can have their war, with soldiers who are all bought by money. What happens when the grunt, the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker all decide they have had enough of money ?

Us regular folk could actually live on the barter system. What do the rich have to offer ? I can fix your car, or some (other) electronic device. My buddies can fix your roof. I got two buddies who can fix your foundation and basement. I can fix your FURNACE.

What do these assholes have to offer ? NOTHING.

It is going to happen folks, and that is one of the few reasons I stay alive, to see it happen.

And, I am still wondering why noone has commented on the ownership of the land on which the capitol sits. Was I right ?

Anyway, we get rid of money, and the rich can eat fox. I hope they got alot of pasta or something to go with it, oh wait, they do not know how to make pasta. Well they sat there getting richer and ran the world into the fucking ground, so at that point I will say "Sorry about your luck" and get the fuck rid of the parasites.

Thank you very much.

Not quite.  The monarch owns the swans on the Thames and its tributaries.  Harming or killing one certainly wouldn't count as treason; I doubt it would be taken more seriously than harming or killing any other swan.

Oh and if you deface the queens head on anything such as money, that is treason too.  Off with ya head

Again, I'm fairly sure that defacing an image of the monarch isn't treason.  Also, even high treason isn't punishable by death any more, since EU human rights legislation (as, in this case, codified into UK law by the Crime and Disorder Act, 1998) forbids capital punishment under all circumstances.

All swans -  in the middle ages - were deemed valuable and as such, were marked with ownership usually by churches(and the odd nobleman).  These include the swans that live on and around the Thames - which are marked as belonging to the queen.  As the queen is also the head of the Church of England, this indicates she owns others(if marked as church owned).  All identifying marks are registered to the Crown and under the supervision and laws of the swan keeper.  The offical swan keeper is maintained by the queen.  The queen by law holds preogative over all swans and any unmarked swans, are regarded as belonging to the queen.  It is illegal to kill swans as they are under the protection of the queen, unlike most other wetland birds such as ducks, geese etc.

It probably saved them from extinction.

Chilling, but doesn't that neglect the middle class? You know, the merchants, the repairmen, non-physical laborers despised by both rich and poor alike?

EPGAH:
Since you could not possibly know all of the rich and all of the poor nor their individual feelings for what you term "middle class" your statement seems to be more than a bit presumptuous.

I think these ideas are interesting:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freehold
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allodial_title

It's interesting how in the U.S. you can buy a house, pay it off, retire, and STILL have to generate enough income to pay an annual property tax. And failure to pay the tax means very likely losing said house to the government.

It does make you think about what is real and what is fantasy.

Most people live and act as if one thing were true, when in reality something quite contrary to all appearances is true instead.

SugarMyChurro:
Once one has paid off the mortgage one may file for a "Land Patent".  This will convey an allodial aspect to your title.  the upside is that you hold absolute title to the land...meaning it cannot be taken from you for any reason.
The downside (if you view it as such) is that the land cannot be pledged as security for a loan.  It cannot be seized for back taxes or for judgments.  If the land is then put into a trust it can be passed to your heirs in perpetuity untaxed.  Of course should you sell it the proceeds could be seized by any creditors that may have filed liens against you.

Mod 11 and I have discussed this and the consensus was that anything larger would be ostentatious.
